NASA Antares Rocket doesn’t quite reach orbit

Good day all, this is the Angry Systems Administrator. I was watching the News last night when they interrupted the program with a breaking news story. It seems that NASA had a little “Whoopsie!” with an Antares cargo rocket.

The Antares was carrying some 5000 pounds of supplies and experiments to the International Space Station. Something went wrong on launch and, well watch the video and see for yourselves.

Ouch! that’s a multimillion dollar fireworks display, and worse, they lost the launch pad as well. It looks like an engine blew out, which caused the rocket to fall back onto the pad. Fortunately, this was an unmanned rocket so no one was injured. However, I’m certain the underwriters and insurance people are not happy this morning.
