House begins Impeachment of IRS commissioner

Good day all. This news came out late yesterday. The Republicans in the House of Representatives have begun the impeachment process against the current Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, John Koskinen.

Impeachment is generally thought of as a way to remove Presidents, Vice-Presidents and judges. However, it can be used to remove any official appointed to a federal office. As to why the House is looking at impeaching Koskinen? Here are some of the details from the Washington Times:

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz began the impeachment process against IRS Commissioner John Koskinen on Tuesday, accusing him of misleading the public and destroying documents that were sought under a congressional subpoena.

It hasn’t just been Congress that Koskinen has been ignoring. Last July, Koskinen was close to being held in Contempt of Court over his actions in covering up the IRS’s actions regarding Lois Lerner and the Tea Party scandal. According to CNS NEWS:

United States District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan threatened to hold IRS Commissioner John Koskinen and Justice Department attorneys in contempt of court after the IRS failed to produce status reports and newly recovered emails of former director of the Exempt Organizations Unit of the IRS Lois Lerner, as was ordered on July 1, 2015.

At the status hearing yesterday, Judge Sullivan warned that the failure to comply with the order was “a serious matter” and that the IRS and Justice Department’s excuses for not following the July 1 order were “clearly indefensible,” “ridiculous” and “absurd.”

The fact that a federal judge was ready to throw Koskinen into jail over his actions is really all that is needed to remove him from office. However, the House has a list of other charges to bring against Koskinen. According to the Washington Times:

Among the specific charges leveled by Mr. Chaffetz and 18 of his fellow Republicans on the committee were that Mr. Koskinen, appointed by President Obama in December 2013 after the targeting scandal broke, misled Congress when he said he had turned over all of former IRS senior executive Lois G. Lerner’s emails and that he oversaw destruction of evidence when his agency got rid of backup tapes that contained the emails.

One problem with impeaching and convicting Koskinen is the Democrats. For instance, we have one of the dirtiest, most corrupt, power mad scum in the House who has done nothing but obstruct, obfuscate and protect the Obama regime. Who am I speaking of?

Rep. Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland, the ranking Democrat on the oversight committee, said the accusations against Mr. Koskinen were baseless and the impeachment drive was a waste of time and taxpayer money.

thugs

Yeah, this sleazy scumsucking pig.

This ridiculous resolution will demonstrate nothing but the Republican obsession with diving into investigative rabbit holes that waste tens of millions of taxpayer dollars while having absolutely no positive impact on a single American,” the Maryland Democrat said. “Calling this resolution a ‘stunt’ or a ‘joke’ would be insulting to stunts and jokes.”

full retard

Cummings is everything that is wrong with the Democrat party today. He is corrupt, racist, collectivist and will always put the party ahead of everything else, with the exception of himself. His contempt for the Rule of Law, the Constitution and the people he purports to represent knows no bounds.

constitution, Void where prohibited by Obama

As to what exactly the charges are for the purposes of impeachment? According to Fox News:

The resolution containing articles of impeachment accused him of “high crimes and misdemeanors” over the following allegations:

  • That he failed to preserve IRS records in accordance with a congressional subpoena; the resolution notes the IRS erased hundreds of backup tapes containing potentially thousands of emails from Lois Lerner, the former official at the heart of the controversy.
  • That he made “false and misleading statements” to Congress, including claiming “nothing” had been “lost” or “destroyed.”
  • That he did not notify Congress of missing emails until June 2014, despite allegedly being aware earlier.

And this is the stuff that Cummings says is nonsense. Perhaps he should talk to Judge Sullivan who was ready to jail Koskinen over these very same charges?

As to the actual process of impeaching and convicting Koskinen, there are a few problems. While impeaching him in the house will probably happen, considering the Borg like mindset of the Democrats, it will be a vote along party lines. I really doubt that there are any honest members of the Democrat Party in the House of Representatives.

After the vote to impeach Koskinen, assuming it succeeds, passes, the process moves over to the Senate where a trial is held. After the case is presented, a vote is taken and requires a two thirds vote of approval by the full Senate. Again, considering the utter corruption of the Democrats, it is highly unlikely they will support the removal of Koskinen.

Typical Democrat Voter

This will prove to be a real problem for the Democrats down the road. Even though the Obama Regime has successfully covered up and suppressed the investigation into the IRS, up to and including having any criminal charges buried by Attorney General Loretta Lynch, people will see that they have no hope of a fair and honest hearing from the IRS. This can, and probably will, lead to a rise in violence against the Internal Revenue Service.

This will, of course, lead to the IRS using their private army armed agents to go after Americans. All this will lead to an escalating circle of violence that could cause a full blown rebellion. (People forget that the American Revolution started as a Tax protest that got way out of hand) All this could easily be stopped simply by Congress, both sides of the aisle, and the Administration actually upholding the Constitution.

Flying pig

Yeah, I don’t see that happening either with the current crop of criminals in office. Still, impeaching and removing Koskinen would show that there is still a chance at honest government.
