Good day all. After Governor Chris Christie’s pathetic poll results yesterday, he decided to return to his spawning grounds to “Re-evaluate” his presidential campaign.
Well, rumors are starting to fly, and not from the Cruz campaign, that The Great Jersey Whale is suspending his campaign. Here’s what CNN is saying:
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is huddling with top campaign aides on Wednesday and all indications are they expect him to formally suspend his bid for the Republican nomination, according to two sources. Details are still being worked out.
I wonder what the details might be? Perhaps who will be paying for Governor Krispy Kreme’s donut fixes from now on?
One source noted that the New Jersey governor is a “political realist” and understood that not qualifying to appear in Saturday’s debate and the lack of money made it impossible to go forward. Christie staked his hopes on New Hampshire, but he finished sixth on Tuesday night with just 7% of the vote.
All he managed to do was take out Marco the Rubot, who finished 5th.
The source emphasized that some people “had left Christie for dead after the bridge incident and the fact that he was able to claw his way back into a competitive situation in New Hampshire shows how resilient of a candidate he was and how good of a campaign he had around him.”
Christie never had a chance. It wasn’t the bridge incident that sank him, it was the tongue bath he gave Obama after Hurricane Sandy. There was also the issues with his big mouth writing checks he couldn’t cash, not to mention his dislike for the 2nd Amendment.
No formal announcement has been made yet from whaling ship, but it looks like Christie has run out of other people’s money, and will be closing down his campaign. So, in honor of the latest withdrawal from the presidential race, here is some going away music.
