Good day all. Well, yet another Republican candidate has decided that the fat lady has sung and is getting out of the primary race. Doctor Ben Carson has announced that he is suspending his campaign.
I was one of those people who was wondering why Dr. Carson was running. I think he was a great doctor, and an excellent commentator, but I, among many, think he was just to nice a guy to be president. Dr. Carson made is announcement at the Conservative Political Action Conference, (CPAC), yesterday. Here are the details from the Washington Times:
Ben Carson on Friday officially suspended his campaign for president at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference. Mr. Carson’s announcement elicited murmurs of disappointment and then a loud road of applause for the retired neurosurgeon, who said he would remain engaged in the process by urging members of the faith community to get more engaged in the political arena.
Basically, everyone liked Dr. Carson, including myself.
Mr. Carson also teased the idea of backing a candidate, saying his pick would have a record of accomplishment, a solid ethical mooring and policies that can strengthen the nation — though he stopped short of endorsing.
First thing, a dig at Seth McLaughlin, the writer of this story as well as to his editor. It isn’t Mister Carson, it’s DOCTOR Carson. Dr. Carson is a board certified surgeon, even if he has retired from the practice of medicine.
Now, who will Dr. Carson endorse? I know that Donald Trump has been on the phone with Dr. Carson, and that the two have not blasted each other. I seem to recall that at one of the debates, Dr. Carson didn’t hear his name announced, and Trump, rather than push past him, waited behind him.
He also told his supporters to refuse the temptation to sit out the election now that his campaign has ended. “That is not a good thing because we have to recognize when you don’t vote, you are voting, but you are voting for the other side,” Mr. Carson said, suggesting that would help Hillary Clinton win the White House.
Dr. Carson is correct, although if the Beltway RINO’s do force a brokered convention and shove someone like Rubio on to the party, I will look at a third party or write in Donald Trump for President and Ted Cruz as Vice President. And Seth? Again, it’s Doctor, not Mister.
Mr. Carson has emerged as one of the most well-liked figures in the conservative movement, but announced this week that he did not see a path to the GOP presidential nomination after a disappointing showing on Super Tuesday and failing to win any of the opening nomination contests.
“There are a lot of people that love me, but they just won’t vote for me. That’s OK. It is not a problem,” he said in jest.
Unfortunately, that was true. Hopefully, Dr. Carson will be given a cabinet post in the Trump or Cruz administration, possibly as head of the Department of Health and Human Services. And as always, I will serenade Dr. Carson as he sails off into the sunset.

Good luck Dr. Carson. I hope you stay involved and help the Base continue ripping the RINO Establishment class to shreds.
