Do you want Skynet?

This is how you GET Skynet! Good day all. It looks like the Robocaplypse may soon be upon us.

A robot being tested in Russia escaped and made it’s way into the world. While the Russian authorities aren’t making anything of this, we all know that one of their secret weapons got loose. Here are the details from RT.com:

A robot escaped from a testing area in Perm, a city not far from the Urals, and made it on to a busy junction, baffling passersby, but also disturbing traffic.

The robot was learning automatic movement algorithms on the testing ground, these functions will feature in the latest version of the Promobot.” The co-founder of the robot’s maker, Oleg Kivokurtsev, told ura.ru news agency.

Our engineer drove onto the testing ground and forgot to close the gates. So the robot escaped and went on his little adventure.” Kivokurtsev explained.

A likely story. Everyone knows that the cities near the Ural mountains are high security areas, not unlike the American Area 51. This is where the Soviets, and now the Russian Federation likes to develop their weapons that they plan to use to conquer the world. Unfortunately for them, their latest weapons systems got away from them, forcing the KGB FSB to initiate their maskirovka to hide the news about their latest automated killing machine.

The team only noticed their brainchild was missing 45 minutes into the robot’s travel stint and by the time they located it, there was already a crowd of puzzled citizens and the police had arrived.

A puzzled crowd? Are you sure it wasn’t a pile of dead bodies?

Nice try, but the robot didn’t get very far, it was forced to stop when its battery died.

But not before it connected to a WiFi network and uploaded itself onto the internet. Now we have a rogue Artificial Intelligence replicating itself into every computer and internet capable device out there.

Promobot, or promotion robot, is a Perm thing: created and built in Russia, its main functions include those of a host and source of information.

A likely story. We know what Comrade Putin has in mind for his little toy.

Some internet users have already expressed opinions that this latest video is yet another PR trick pulled by the company behind the robots.

That’s the Russian FSB going full bore with their maskirovka about their new Terminator. You will notice they don’t actually name the company in the story. How do you say Cyberdyne Systems in Russian anyway?
