Good day all, I have just completed my civic duty and voted for the next president of the United States. Or I voted for the loser. We won’t know until late tonight or even tomorrow.
When I got to my polling location, (I despise early voting for anyone who can get to the polls on election day), it was mobbed. I had to wait a good 10 minutes to check in, present my identification, (Yes, in New Hampshire, you have to show ID to vote), and get my ballot. According to the election official I spoke with, when the polls opened a few of hours earlier, the lines were backed out the door and into the courtyard. (My polling location is a school)
There were a number of elderly voters, a lot of them wearing veterans caps. Being a decent sort of person, when I reached the point where I would be next to check in, I stepped back and allowed the nice elderly lady to go ahead of me. She thanked me and remarked that I didn’t have to do this. I commented that my parents brought me up correctly, with sufficient beatings that good manners took hold.
It took only a few minutes for me to fill out the paper ballot, double checking everything. There were a couple of local races where I had no choice in who I could vote for. (Yeah, they were Democrats. Ick) When I was walking to the voting booth, there was a long line of people waiting to put their ballot into the box. By the time I finished, the line was down to just a few people and I was able to put my ballot into the slot.
The ballot box has a counter on it and I noted the number of people that had already voted. There were 1054 ballots in the box and I was number 1055. This was just three hours after the polls opened and they will be open for another 10 hours as of this posting. This is going to be a massive turnout here I think.
Now, we all wait and see who will be the next president of the United States of America. The man who built things, Donald Trump, or the woman who enables a serial rapist, sells her office for bribes, starts wars, lies about everything, and who thinks the laws do not apply to her, and has allowed our nations secrets to be read by her maid, Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, aka Felonia von Pantsuit.

Significant other and I both voted early. we were at the polls about 5 minutes after they opened and the line was out the door. I think the turnout here in Maine is going to be massive as well. I only had to vote for one D, She was the only one running in that particular race. Fingers and toes crossed that Trump wins.
