Good day all. Last week, the plan to introduce a nice socialist single payer health care system into California was taken off life support and the plug pulled.
The single payer plan was making quick progress thought the California politburo when someone who actually knew how to do mathematics figured out that it would cost more money then the state actually has. Reality broke through the progressive haze and the bill was tabled. Here are some of the details on why from the Sacramento Bee:
Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon put the brakes on a sweeping plan to overhaul the health care market in California Friday, calling the bill “woefully incomplete.”
And there is the understatement of the century.
Rendon announced plans to park the bill to create a government-run universal health care system in Assembly Rules Committee “until further notice” and give senators time to fill in holes that the bill does not currently address.
These “Holes” are small little details like how the Hell they were going to actually pay for this fiscal disaster.
“Even senators who voted for Senate Bill 562 noted there are potentially fatal flaws in the bill, including the fact it does not address many serious issues, such as financing, delivery of care, cost controls, or the realities of needed action by the Trump administration and voters to make SB 562 a genuine piece of legislation,” Rendon said.
And if you think that President Trump is going to lift a finger to help California go full Marxist, you need to take another hit from your crack pipe.
The abrupt announcement shields members of the Assembly from having to take a difficult vote that could be used against them by critics or supporters of the policy.
Fat lot of good that’s going to do. The threats have already started from the perpetually stupid class. In another article from the Sacramento Bee:
Anger over Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon’s decision to shelve universal health care legislation in California has boiled into aggressive protests and even violent rhetoric against the Democratic leader. Rendon said Wednesday that he and his family have experienced “distressing” death threats since announcing late last Friday that the “woefully incomplete” Senate Bill 562 would not move forward this year.
“The threats that I’ve received are threats that, unfortunately, seem to be sort of a standard part of American politics these days,” he said of the messages, which have primarily come through social media. One tweet prays that “someone checks his schedule for baseball practice,” a possible reference to the shooting of Republican congressmen and aides at a baseball field in Washington, D.C., earlier this month.
And this is surprising you, why? You have been helping push this garbage since Donald Trump won the election. Did you think these Antifa thugs weren’t going to turn on you as well? You will note that it isn’t the people who you might consider to be “Right of Center” making these threats.
Earlier Wednesday, dozens of protesters crowded outside Rendon’s Capitol office, carrying signs that proclaimed “Inaction Equals Death” and chanting “Rendon, Rendon, shame on you. Action now on 562.” One demonstrator carrying a fake knife with “Rendon” written on it pretended to stab another, dressed as a bear, in the back.
Now I wonder how may of these thugs were arrested and criminally charged? Death threats are a felony, especially when made towards an elected official. My guess? Zero.
It was the second event this week, led by bill sponsor the California Nurses Association, aimed at pressuring Rendon to take up SB 562 after all or potentially face a recall campaign. Outspoken union President RoseAnn DeMoro has denounced Rendon for carrying out the will of corporate donors, and on Wednesday, tweeted a parody Time magazine cover dubbing him the “Insurance Industry’s Man of the Year.”
Other labor groups, including the United Food and Commercial Workers Western States Council, have come to Rendon’s defense. On Wednesday, the State Building and Construction Trades Council, which represents construction workers in California, urged proponents of SB 562 to “tone down the rhetoric.”
“The unfair and unwarranted attacks on him are distractions that undermine the real fight to defend and improve access to quality healthcare that are now pending in Congress,” Robbie Hunter, president of the union, said in a statement. “Instead of attacking Speaker Rendon, they should work with him and other legislative leaders to develop workable policies and to present ideas on how to finance them.”
These morons still think Obamacare is going to be the be all and end all of Health insurance. They obviously can’t read. Obamacare is, as predicted back in 2010, collapsing. All but a very few of the Obamacare exchanges have shut down or collapsed. Insurance companies that originally backed Obamacare are running from it as fast as they can.
Of course, the goal of all these moonbats is a nationwide single payer system. They look at places like Europe and think that what they have will work here. What the other countries have in place doesn’t even work for them. The various national health systems kill thousands of men, women and children every year. But you can’t tell moonbats that. They flat out are not capable of believing it.
Illinois is in fiscal collapse. California is circling the drain. Some legislators are finally beginning to see the light. They are starting to put the brakes on the out of control spending. The problem is, they’re to late and the spoiled brats are throwing usual temper tantrums. It’s time to give them a spanking.
