What happens if the Electoral College is scrapped?

Good day all. Since the defeat of Felonia von Pantsuit by Donald Trump in 2016, the Progressive Liberal Democrats have been looking for a way to insure something like this never happens again. They have hit on the idea that the Electoral College should be abolished in favor of Democrat Voter fraud.

This has led to a number of editorials and discussions on what this would mean. In general, the MSM is all in favor of it since they assume they would be in charge of telling people how to think. The reality is different, and in an opinion piece in USA Today by Trent England, he lays out the reasons why this would be a very bad idea.

Should rural and small-town Americans be reduced to serfdom? The American Founders didn’t think so. This is one reason why they created checks and balances, including the Electoral College. Today that system is threatened by a proposal called the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, or NPV.

Rural America produces almost all our country’s food, as well as raw materials like metals, cotton and timber. Energy, fossil fuels but also alternatives like wind and solar come mostly from rural areas. In other words, the material inputs of modern life flow out of rural communities and into cities.

Well, well well, it looks like someone is putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with the answer many people have already figured out. Flyover country is rather important to things like not starving to death in the freezing cold dark.

This is fine, so long as the exchange is voluntary — rural people choose to sell their goods and services, receive a fair price, and have their freedom protected under law.

And it’s worked fairly well since the Constitution was ratified over 2 hundred years ago.

But history shows that city dwellers have a nasty habit of taking advantage of their country cousins. Greeks enslaved whole masses of rural people, known as helots. Medieval Europe had feudalism. The Russians had their serfs.

Even the United States had slavery, primarily in the south, and it was one of the reasons, although not the primary one, for the American Civil War. After the Civil War, slavery was rightfully abolished.

Credit the American Founders with setting up a system of limited government with lots of checks and balances.

Limits on federal power, along with the Bill of Rights, are supposed to protect Americans from overreaching federal regulations.

That’s the way it’s supposed to work, however, we’ve had a little problem with over-regulation since at least the Roosevelt Administration. (FDR)

The Electoral College makes it impossible for one population-dense region of the country to control the presidency.

Time for a little history lesson. When the Constitution was written, there was a real fear that the big states, New York for instance, would basically order the small states to nothing more than vassals. The Senate was set up so that each state would have two representatives, selected by the legislature, to represent the interests of the state. The electoral college was set up in the same way, making sure that the state’s interests were represented in the election of the president.

The 17th Amendment ended the selection of senators by the legislature and made them popularly elected. This has done a great deal of damage since now, these senators generally represent themselves and those who helped them get elected. Since they’re in for 6 years, it’s hard to turn them out.

This is why Hillary Clinton lost in 2016. Instead of winning over small-town Americans, she amassed a popular vote lead based on California and a few big cities. She won those places with huge margins but lost just about everywhere else. And the system worked. The Electoral College requires more than just the most raw votes to win — it requires geographic balance. This helps to protect rural and small-town Americans.

This is something Felonia von Pantsuit and the CommuNazis simply won’t understand. Not can’t, won’t. The job of the President is to represent America in it’s entirety, to administer the whole nation for the benefit of the nation as a whole, not a few states and cities.

Now a California millionaire named John Koza is trying to undo this system. He is leading and funding the National Popular Vote campaign. Their plan is to get state governments to ignore how their own citizens vote in presidential elections and instead get them to cast their electoral votes based on the national popular vote. If it works, this will be like getting rid of the Electoral College but without actually amending the Constitution.

It will also lead to flat out civil war. The “Blue” states are basically socialist disaster areas that only stay afloat due to the looting of other regions, either internally, (Within their states), or by gettins special tax breaks that force the “Red” states to pick up the tab. The recent tax overhaul stripped a large part of that ability away from the high tax blue states and they are hurting because of it.

Electing a president by popular vote, especially since the voting rolls in the Democrat controlled states are a disaster and set up for fraud would allow them to loot the more successful and prosperous states and regions. Since the goal of this is to gut the constitution without actually amending it, it will end the United States as a republic.

The idea that every vote should count equally is attractive. But a quote often attributed to Benjamin Franklin famously reminds us that democracy can be “two wolves and a lamb voting on what’s for lunch.” (City dwellers who think that meat comes from the grocery store might not understand why this is such a big problem for the lamb.) And when you think about it, every check on government power, from the Electoral College to the Bill of Rights, is a restraint on the majority.

The final check is also the 2nd Amendment. The Progressive Liberal Democrats know that “Flyover Country” is very heavily armed. In order to rule the serfs, they must be disarmed. What the NPV does is take away a states votes. Allow me to explain.

Say the NPV kicks in. Now say Bernie Sanders wins the populous Blue state and city votes, giving him a majority. However, he loses the rest of the country. Under the NPV, it doesn’t matter if your state votes for his opponent, your vote will not count. The electoral votes will be given to Comrade Bernie Sanders.

Sanders is a flat out communist and will quickly move to institute a communist state including the organs needed for a police state. (Think KGB or Gestapo) There will be people who refuse to accept this, and they will be rounded up and put into camps. Do you think people won’t start shooting if this happens? Do you believe this won’t happen? Count on it.

The Electoral College makes it even harder to win the presidency. It requires geographic balance and helps protect Americans who might otherwise have their voices ignored. All Americans should value constitutional protections, like the Electoral College, that remind us that the real purpose of government is to protect our individual rights.

President Trump understood this. Felonia von Pantsuit ignored it. She took it as a given that it was her right to be president and why should she bother paying any attention to those hicks, rubes, rednecks and deplorables that President Trump listened to? The NPV is nothing more than a way to make sure that those sorts of people, (Which I am one of), have no say in how this country selects it’s leaders or how the nation is run.
