Good day all, this is the Angry Systems Administrator. You may have noticed that Anger Central, both the main site and the blog were not reachable. We noticed this around 6 AM Eastern Standard Time, and tried to reach out to our Hosting company.
However, their site was offline as well, and the error messages indicated that the servers could not be found. The nitwit who owns this site woke me out of a sound sleep in a blind panic. (Why I don’t know. It’s not like people actually visit us).
Once I got online, I found that it looked like all of our hosting company’s clients were down. This is obviously a major outage. With the normal methods of contact not available, I headed over to Twitter and Facebook to see if they had posted any updates there.
Nothing was there, although a few of their clients responded to another customer who was looking for information. (Really? You had a corporate web site taken out by a train?) Soon after, the hosting company came online and acknowledged the problems and reported that it appeared to be upstream from them.
As of around 11:50 AM EST, we’re back online and the comments on Facebook from other customers are also reporting that their sites are back up as well. We expect that their will be a general Root Cause Analysis sent out by our Hosting Company in the next day or so, once they get everything squared away.
