The Great Panicdemic of 2020: Venturing to Costco for resupply

Good day all. Yesterday, myself and SWMBO, (She Who Must Be Obeyed), made the determination that the time had come to resupply the Anger Central Primary Dwelling. We had run out of a number of items we had stockpiled prior the Great Panicdemic and made the decision to go to the local Costco.

As we made ready to leave the Anger Central High Security Bunker, SWMBO proceeded to armor up. She donned a mask, eye shield, rubber surgical gloves and bio-hazmat suit covered in disinfectant. I wore my usual protective gear. Jacket, Hat and personal defense system, for the zombies of course.

Costco, like a number of stores that have been allowed to stay open by those who think they’re smarter then we are, had recently instituted a policy of limiting the number of people coming into the warehouse. The last time I went there, right after they had done this, the line was around the block, and I said “Hell No!” and drove away. They are still sticking to that idiotic policy, however there were only a few people waiting to get in.

SWMBO thought that Costco was still limiting the amount of bottled water we could buy, (It had been restricted to 2 cases per person per visit), but when I went to the Costco web site to see when the local store opened, I noticed they were selling bottled water by the pallet. (48 cases) I assumed, correctly, the limits were off. Still, she assumed I was incorrect and grabbed a second cart. (2 cases in each cart)

We got into the store fairly quickly, and made our way around picking up everything on out list. Yes, this included toilet paper since we were starting to run short. As expected, there was no limit on the bottled water and SWMBO abandoned her cart.

We found everything on our list and made our way to the registers. We were in and out in perhaps 40 minutes including the time in line. We loaded up the Anger Central Armored Transport Vehicle, and SWMBO decided she also wanted to go to Hannaford Farms, one of the local supermarkets. I will say this about Hannaford, they weren’t kowtowing the Panic. No lines to get in, none of this socialist distancing nonsense and they appeared to be fully stocked with every item we could want. I don’t recall seeing anything limited, but I may have missed something.

As you can no doubt guess, I have not been taking the China Flu to seriously. Yes, if you’re one of those people who contracts it, and you are someone who is susceptible to it for whatever reason, it can really suck. From what we’ve been seeing, this thing may be far more widespread then anyone originally thought, and far fewer people per capita are actually dying from it. It’s time to end this socialist distancing nonsense. It never really worked in the first place. And no, there were no zombies at Costco.
