Good day all. One of the things the October 7th assault by Hamas into Israel exposed was just how deeply involved the United Nations was in aiding Hamas. The worst of the NGO’s, (Non-governmental Organization), was the U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). Not only were they providing aid to the terrorists, a number of their members were directly involved in the attack.
The United Nations was created during World War Two to deal with the aftermath of the war and to prevent World War Three, especially after the development of nuclear weapons. It was also meant to help with the decolonization of the old European empires. (Whether or not the empires wanted to give up their territories)
They were also meant to provide aid to people in need. About the only part of this that could be considered a success was preventing an all out nuclear war between the United States and the USSR. In every other aspect, they have been a complete failure.
This brings us to UNRWA. The American Taxpayers have been funding this group. The proof that the agency was actively aiding in the terrorist attack on Israel was the final nail in the coffin for many Americans and a number of people in Congress. Congress was so angry that they have cut all funding for that group of criminals. However, as usual, the Biden Maladministration is ignoring them and the law that the Dementia patient, Joe Biden, signed into law. Here are the details from the Washington Free Beacon:
The Biden administration continues to diplomatically support the United Nations’ chief Palestinian aid organization and is working behind the scenes with several nations to support its work in the Gaza Strip, even after Congress barred the American government from awarding taxpayer dollars to the group, the State Department told the Washington Free Beacon.
A State Department spokesman praised the “critical role” the U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) “plays in the delivery of humanitarian assistance in Gaza,” and said the United States is coordinating with countries that have not paused funding for the group following revelations that its employees participated in Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel.
“We continue to coordinate with other donors, both those that have suspended funding and those continuing to fund UNRWA, as we continue to work to address the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza,” the State Department spokesman said. “While we will continue to provide funding to organizations like the World Food Programme, we will be looking to other donors to continue to provide critical funding to UNRWA as long as our funding remains paused.”
The United States Department of State has a long history of not supporting the United States and ignoring Congress. The bureaucrats in the bowels of Foggy Bottom will even work to undermine a Secretary of State if they don’t like what he or she is doing. One of the things that the first Secretary of State under President Trump, Rex Tillerson did was take a chainsaw to some of the bureaucrats.
While there were issues between him and President Trump, no one was complaining on the trash he threw into the dumpsters behind the building. (Except the Democrats of course) This set the stage for Mike Pompeo. When he came in he continued hammering the Deep State activists in the State Department. With the installation of Biden and the ever so incompetent Antony Blinken, the State Department is back to it’s usual treasonous activities.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.), a critic of UNRWA, said the Biden administration is trying to circumvent Congress’s ban on UNRWA funding.
“It’s troubling the Biden administration is trying to flout Congress’s ban on UNRWA funding by urging other countries to continue supporting an organization that employed known terrorists,” Cotton told the Free Beacon. “We should be supporting Israel in its fight to eliminate Hamas for good, not resupplying terrorists.”
The issue here Senator Cotton is the State Department itself. They have been antagonistic to Israel since Day One. Most of these people actively support the Arabs and want them to destroy Israel.
The Biden administration’s diplomatic support for UNRWA appears to have motivated several countries to resume funding. Japan announced on Friday it will resume aid to UNRWA, while France confirmed the same on Thursday. Sweden, Finland, and Canada also recently reversed their funding moratorium.
Biden and his handlers are terrified that their base won’t vote Democrat in November since the Communist segment has shown that they are pure antisemites in the Nazi tradition. The Maladministration has already started throwing Israel under the bus and the Israelis are now understanding what a lot of Americans have known for a while.
The Democrat Party is no different then the Nazi, Communist or Fascist parties. They, like those 20th century murderous totalitarian parties despise Jews and want then dead. (Historical note. Until he started linking with Hitler, Mussolini’s Fascists generally didn’t give a damn one way or the other about Jews)
The State Department would “not publicly discuss content of our private diplomatic conversations” surrounding UNRWA, but told the Free Beacon that “funding for Palestinian civilians is a team effort.”
This sounds like the State Department is moving money around internally to aid Hamas in their war against Israel. I think it’s now time to give serious thought to flat out gutting the State Department budget. Fund the Passport and visa services, and perhaps a few other items, but gut everything else, including Blinken’s travel budget.
Pressed on the issue during Thursday’s press briefing, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said the United States must find other ways to support UNRWA’s work after Congress banned funding until 2025.
“We have always made clear that we support the work that UNRWA does, and we have always made clear that it’s important that that work not be interrupted, even though we were—we thought it was appropriate on behalf of the United States to suspend our funding,” Miller said. “Now, of course, that funding has been blocked going forward. So we have engaged with other countries about different ways to ensure that the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people is not interrupted, that it continues.”
It’s going to have to wait until after the November election and the return, (hopefully), of the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, and a Republican majority congress to fix the State Department once and for all. Fixing it is going to require mass firings just to begin with, and in some, perhaps many, cases, criminal prosecution.
Throwing a bunch of these Striped Pants/skirts progressives into a supermax might encourage the remaining staffers that their job is to support the United States and it’s citizens first, work with our true allies second, and punishing our enemies at all times.
