Hello, this is the Angry and caffeine starved Systems Administrator. Yes, you read that correctly. Caffeine starved. The Anger Central coffee maker has suffered a fatal injury. It has been mortally wounded. It will not be down for breakfast.
What horror has befallen that must important of systems in the Anger Central Data Center? There is a crack in the coffee pot!
I went in to the Anger Central Food Preparation Center to place the industrial sized coffee pot into the machine when I saw what looked like a piece of detritus near the bottom of the pot. When I went to wipe it off with my finger, I felt a roughness that wasn’t raised as you would expect if this was just some piece of dried material. It felt like a chip in the glass.
I looked more closely and then I saw it! It wasn’t a small chip, it was a crack. I felt inside the coffee pot and that crack went right through!
Needless to say, panic set in immediately. We don’t have a spare coffee pot of the correct size, (Thanks to the ever so stingy Angry Accountant), and I was momentarily at a loss of what to do. My first thought was, of course, duct tape as a temporary fix. I discarded that right away due to the issues of heat. I then put some water into the pot to see if it leaked, Praise all the higher beings, it didn’t leak!
I have been able to get my coffee fix for the day without the need to travel to the local Dunkin Donuts. (Adequate coffee but pricey thanks to Bidenomics and Bidenflation) Needless to say, the first order of business was ordering a new coffeemaker. I have little doubt that the Angry Accountant will complain of course, but toleration of his usual tight fistedness will not be welcome today.
A new coffeemaker has been ordered and will arrive tomorrow. Hopefully, the current, mortally wounded pot will be able to soldier on for another 36 hours. It has served honorably, however, it’s time has come to be laid to rest. We ask that you pause for a moment to honor the memory of the Angry Coffee Maker.
