Obama scrapping educational tests

Good day all, I hope you are able to read this post. If Obama and his drones have their way, soon, no one will. Why? Obama wants to end the testing feature of “No Child Left Behind” because to many students were failing it.

Now I won’t comment on the good or bad of Bush’s No Child Left behind law. I honestly don’t know enough about it to comment, and since I don’t have kids, it doesn’t affect me. However, I’m also dead set against educational trendiness.

I learned how to read using the Phonics system. This system had been used for decades, perhaps centuries because IT WORKED! My mother used it on me and I was able to read before I started first grade. The school books used to teach it were simple and inexpensive.

Then came the trendoids with their “Scientific” ways of teaching. Basically socialists who supported communism who had been infiltrating the system for decades finally had enough power to shove their views down the throats of America.

I am also a victim of that. I was taught mathematics using “New Math.” It was a dismal failure and to this day I have trouble with mathematics. It’s virtually impossible for me to do division without some form of aid. ((That would be a calculator)) I did have a teacher who helped me with multiplication by making me memorize the tables. I can still do that in my head. Algebra, Geometry, Calculus? Forget it.

So now that I’ve set up my background, let’s get to the meat of the matter.

Obama has announced that he is going to waive testing requirements of the law. Why? Because teachers are to incompetent to actually teach children State education officials have said the requirements are to extreme and can’t be met, that’s why.

The goal of the No Child Left Behind law is to have every student proficient in math and reading by 2014. States have been required to bring more students up to the math and reading standards each year, based on tests that usually take place each spring. The step-by-step ramping up of the 9-year-old law has caused heartburn in states and most school districts, because more and more schools are labeled as failures as too few of their students meet testing goals.

Gee, that sounds like a good idea to me. To bad the Education bureaucrats disagree.

Critics say the benchmarks are unrealistic and brands schools as failures even if they make progress. Schools and districts where too few kids pass the tests for several years are subject to sanctions that can include firing teachers or closing the school entirely.

This isn’t a failure of the law, it’s a failure of the morons running the public school systems in this country. These pinheads have utterly destroyed the public educational system. We used to be in the top 5 best educated children, but when the Unions and Professional Educators got their grimy hooks into the system, they ran it right into the ground.

Every day you see how drop out rates are rising and high school graduates are totally unprepared for the world. Collages end up having to teach remedial reading and mathematics to freshman! United States history, understanding of the constitution and how the government is supposed to work? These were considered unimportant and abandoned by these leftist socialists.

Now we’re paying the price.

Through the waivers, schools will get some relief from looming deadlines to meet testing goals as long as they agree to embrace other kinds of education reforms such as raising standards, helping teachers and principals improve, and focusing on fixing the lowest performing schools.

They will get more time to ignore reality is what they mean. Frankly, most teachers aren’t competent. The people who would be the best teachers are kept out of the classroom. I’m talking about scientists, engineers, historians, people who have actually done things and learned things. They don’t want to make a career of teaching, they just want to spend a few years, probably as they retire, to educate the next generation.

This is the way it USED to be done.

Now, you have to go to a “special” university to be “trained” in the latest techniques. Then you have to get certified that you are a hard corp left wing union member trained instructor in good standing. The whole systems has been set up to keep people who actually know and can teach a subject out.

We have lost a generation to this madness of political correctness, feel good about yourself crap. If you want a decent education, you need to go to a private school and pay through the nose. I went to a private school for a few years when I was very young. (No it had more than one room!) Because of a number of things I went back to the public schools. I was bored to tears.

It’s hard when they dumb down things for the other students, but when you’re actually brighter than your teachers?? As I said above, I had memorized the multiplication tables. When I re-entered the public schools I had a teacher who was a moron. I turned in an assignment that took me all of 15 minutes to do and the bitch asked me “Where’s you work?”

I had no idea what she meant and said so. She wanted to see how I had come to the answers in my math quiz. I tried to tell her that I did everything in my head and to check the answers. (They were all correct) The cow flunked me. She was a big fat proponent of the “New Math” way of teaching. Needless to say, she basically destroyed my mathematics abilities.

So, why is Obama doing this? Easy. It’s yet another payoff to his union buddies. If all these schools fail, then the parents and local politicians will want answers. The educrats won’t have them and will end up in a field more suited to their abilities. Washing dishes, flipping burgers, digging ditches, and in a few cases, the adult entertainment industry. (They can screw people of legal age for a change rather than underage students)

I assume you can guess where I stand on this. Keep the tests and if the kids fail, fire the teachers and administrators. If the unions go on strike, break them. Irregardless of what you think of the No Child Left Behind law, call your representatives and tell them to stop Obama from once again ignoring the laws and congress. If you don’t like the law, then ask to have it changed or repealed.
