Obama takes charge

Ok, you can stop laughing and pick yourself up off the floor, that’s actually what the headline says. Yes, Obama takes charge at hurricane command center. Once again he is showing the world that he actually is relevant to…to…well he must be relevant to something, can’t he?

Since he had to cut short his 100th vacation, I guess he had to find something to do this weekend. It’s not a lot of fun being stuck indoors and not out cheating at golf. Anyway, here’s what the AFP news service had to say:

US President Barack Obama warned Saturday the US east coast was in for a “long 72 hours” as he led his government’s response to Hurricane Irene at a disaster command center in Washington.

“This is going to be a tough slog getting through this thing,” Obama said during a video teleconference including senior federal officials and local government agencies in the east coast path of Irene.

“It’s going to be a long 72 hours. Obviously a lot of families are going to be affected … the biggest concern I’m having right now has to do with flooding and power,” Obama said during the videoconference.

*Yawn*

Oh I’m sorry, I started to doze off there.

Ok, this is a big storm, but the east coast has been hit a lot harder in the past. Hurricane Irene is already starting to fall apart and is a category 1 storm. (And barely that)

Yes there is going to be a lot of rain and yes there is going to be flooding, power outages and a big mess. However this is NOT another hurricane Katrina. That was a category 5 storm and killed almost 2000 people and drowned most of New Orleans.

While you can’t be to careful with these storms, frankly Obama is once again showing how easily panicked he is and how incompetent he has proven to be. ((I knew he was destined to fail when he first appeared on the scene))

Without a doubt, the Mostly Irrelevant Media will make this storm look like the first category 8 hurricane in history an only the presence of “The One” kept it from destroying every structure and killing every living thing on the East Coast.

Yes, he was correct to leave Martha’s Vineyard, but I’m sure the Secret Service pretty much said he was leaving. They are highly risk adverse when it comes to a president’ safety, even when he is the most incompetent, corrupt and breath takingly arrogant president in US History. (Frankly, the pinhead in chief should have remained in Washington and actually tried working for the first time in his life)

Now, he is doing his usual overreacting to a problem and will no doubt turn it into another one of his famous FUBARs. ((Fucked up beyond all recognition))

No, he should have stayed in DC, and KEPT HIS YAP SHUT. All he needed to do was send out his mouthpiece press secretary to say that he was working with the state governors and had FEMA standing by if needed.

I’m in the path of this storm and as I wrote here, I’ve takes all sorts of precautions. In other words, I closed the windows so the rain won’t blow in.

Now if you will excuse me, I have a good book to read and possible review.

Keep dry!
