Good day all. Representative Ilhan Omar, (Communist-Somalia), has been in the House of Representatives for 10 years. In that time, she has managed to make a name for herself for all the wrong reasons.
Omar is a Naturalized citizen originally from Somalia. Since her election allegedly representing Minnesota’s 5th District, she has managed to go from being dead broke to now being worth millions. Even Nancy Pelosi took a few decades to accomplish that. There are also reports, not confirmed…yet, that she lied on her immigration and naturalization forms. Additionally, it’s rumored that she married her brother as part of that alleged immigration fraud.
Now it looks like that the DoJ is starting, belatedly, to investigate Omar and a number of potential crimes. If any of them prove out, especially the immigration issues, she will be stripped of her citizenship and deported. However, one African country has decided that they will be more then happy to assist the Administration in removing her from the United States. Here are the details from Fox News:
An African nation is calling for Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., to be extradited after Vice President JD Vance claimed during an interview that the lawmaker committed immigration fraud.
The Republic of Somaliland, a partially recognized state in the Horn of Africa, reacted in a post on X to the claim that Vance made in a podcast interview with conservative commentator Benny Johnson.
“Deportation? Please you’re just sending the princess back to her kingdom. Extradition? Say the word …” the post read.
Oh this is rich! Now regarding Somaliland. They are a small republic with a democratically elected government. They are not universally recognized and I don’t know all that much about them. Apparently, they joined with Somalia at first, but things went sour and they broke away. That’s pretty much all I know about them and that was from reading that “Internet tome of all wisdom”, Wikipedia. I would say that having a tradition of elected governments counts in their favor.
In the interview, Vance said he has spoken with White House immigration advisor Stephen Miller about potential legal action against Omar, saying, “We think Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America.”
“We’re trying to look at what the remedies are,” Vance said. “That’s the thing that we’re trying to figure out is what are the legal remedies now that we know that she’s committed immigration fraud — how do you go after her, how do you investigate her, how do you actually do the thing, how do you build a case necessary to get some justice for the American people?”
As I mentioned earlier, there has been an ongoing rumor that Omar may not actually be a United State Citizen. However, proving that to the level needed in a court of law is going to be very difficult, but not impossible. It doesn’t help that Ilhan Omar is stonewalling. You would think that someone with nothing to hide would be handing over all her documentation, gift wrapped and with a bow on it.
Somaliland’s post about Omar, who is from Somalia, comes amid criticism over her opposition to the recognition of an independent Somaliland and her defense of Somalia’s territorial claims.
Well, I can see why they’re not to thrilled with her. Somalia is and always has been a basket case going back decades. If you’re familiar with the book “Black Hawk Down” or the movie by the same name, you will know what a pest hole it is. As near as I can tell, it’s the dead opposite of Somaliland at least politically.
While most in the international community, including the U.S., do not recognize Somaliland as an independent country, Israel became the first U.N. member state to recognize the self-declared state.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced last year that Israel had established full diplomatic relations with Somaliland, describing the move as being in the spirit of the United States-brokered Abraham Accords.
Apparently there is also legislation in Congress to basically open up Somaliland to the international banking system. Frankly, I think it’s time that President Trump initiate the process to formally recognize them as an independent nation. They are a functioning democracy and we could use some decent allies in the region. Besides, offering to extradite Ilhan Omar? Even if it’s just trolling, that alone should open the doors.
