Site update

Good evening all. This is the angry Systems Administrator. I’ve been quiet of late, slaving away in the background.

The reason why is simple. I was being held in a secret prison charged with unObama activities. 😉

Ok, I know, leave the politics to the moron Angry Webmaster. Actually I’ve been trying to see what I could do about the sluggishness of the site. This morning I upgraded WordPress to the latest revision. So far so good.

One of the reasons for the delay is simple common sense. I wanted to see what disaster befell others before I dove in. I”m happy to say the upgrade went smoothly with no issues. Of course I backed up the site, Just in case, but that proved unnecessary. The site does seem a bit peppier, and appears to load far more quickly than before. I have a few more things to check of course.

My next upgrade will be to the theme. When I tried to upgrade it last month, it broke our Disqus comments system. Hopefully this revision corrects that problem. I’m also going to put the Google+ button back on and see how that works out. One of the issues I’ve seen is that pasting a link into Google or Facebook pointing back to this site causes it not to load. (Through Google or Facebook)

You may see things happening over the next few days as I try out things.
