NC governor recommends suspending democracy

Democrats, the gift that keeps on giving. As the headline says, North Carolina governor, Beverly Perdue recommended suspending congressional elections for the next couple of years.

Gov. Perdue, a Democrat, (Big surprise there), made the suggestion at a rotary club event in Cary, N.C. The reason she made this asinine suggestion was to allow Congress to concentrate on jobs rather than those annoying elections they have to go through every 2 years.

From the Daily Caller:

“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover,” Perdue said at a rotary club event in Cary, N.C., according to the Raleigh News & Observer. “I really hope that someone can agree with me on that.”

Obviously, Gov. Perdue has issues with elected officials being answerable to those they represent, but after all, she is a Nazi Communist Totalitarian Liberal Democrat. I’m sure she thinks she would be the perfect governor of North Carolina for the next 20-30 years. After all, she is one of the “Well Educated Elite and went to all the right schools” after all. She was born to govern as were all the Nazi Communist Totalitarian Liberal Democrats currently in office.

Perdue said she thinks that temporarily halting elections would allow members of Congress to focus on the economy. “You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things,” Perdue said.

Somehow, I suspect the real reasons she wants to suspend elections is the blowout that’s coming in 2012 for the Democrats.

North Carolina Republicans immediately scoffed at Perdue’s proposal, pointing out to her that elections hold politicians accountable for their actions.

“Now is a time when politicians need to be held accountable more than ever,” North Carolina GOP spokesman Rob Lockwood said in an email to The Daily Caller. “To suspend an election would be removing the surest mechanism that citizens have to hold politicians accountable: the right to vote.”

It would also be the fastest way to get the Second Amendment Reset Button pushed too. Never in our history has an election been canceled. Not even at the height of the Civil War. If elections were canceled simply because politicians don’t want to be bothered with answering to their constituents, then it’s time to remove all of them from office.

Funny thing about this asinine idea, while Progressive, Liberal Democrats, (Yes I know, I’m repeating myself again), are always screaming that “Evil Republican” want to institute a tyrannical government, it’s the liberals that actually try and do it. Governor Perdue was just stupid enough to say so publically. Hmm, this sound rather familiar. Who else recently said they didn’t care about the Constitution? Oh, I know, it was Representative Phil Hare. He recently retired from the House of Representatives. The voters were sick of him. 😉

Of course, now that the the fan has gooey brown biological waste mater on it, the Governors office is claiming this was all a joke.

Perdue press secretary Chris Mackey claims the governor was joking when she made the comment.

“Come on … Gov. Perdue was obviously using hyperbole to highlight what we can all agree is a serious problem: Washington politicians who focus on their own election instead of what’s best for the people they serve,” Mackey said in an email to TheDC.

Uh huh, yeah, right and I have a nice bridge in Brooklyn I want to sell you. Personally, this statement shows that Perdue is unfit to hold any public office. I don’t know if the state legislature could impeach her, but I hope that she is invited to spend more time with her family and seek other opportunities after the next election. You know, the one she wants to cancel.
