Good afternoon all, Angry Webmaster here. Last month I wrote about Warren Buffett and what a hypocrite he is. Buffett has been screeching to Obama asking to have his taxes raised. I wrote about how it would be nice if he tried paying the $1 Billion he already owes.
Obama and the communist Democrat party took up his challenge to raise taxes “On the Rich.” Big surprise there. Of course, the super rich always manage to avoid the excessive levels of taxation Communist Democrats manage to impose on everyone else.
Well the Republicans decided to call Buffett’s bluff. From Fox News:
Republican lawmakers have introduced their own “Buffett Rule” that would allow billionaire investors like Warren Buffett who say they’re not paying enough taxes to voluntarily give more money to the federal government.
What? Asking the rich to pay more money to the government? Why, why, that’s absurd! Everyone knows only the Little People pay taxes ((Quoting Leona Helmsley)).
Under the legislation, authored by Sen. John Thune of South Dakota and Rep. John Scalise of Louisiana, taxpayers can donate at least a $1 to the Treasury fund for deficit reduction when they file their federal income tax returns starting next year.
There’s actually a similar law on the books in Massachusetts. When people fill out their state tax forms, they can elect to pay a higher rate. Care to guess how many people actually do? I’ll save you the time. Almost none. Would you like to know if that scion of gigolos everywhere, John Forbes “Liveshot ((Why is Kerry called Liveshot?))” Kerry, pays the higher rate?
Does the phrase “Oh HELL NO!” sound about right? 😉
Anyway, back to the Republican version of the Buffett Rule:
“If individuals like Warren Buffett or President Obama are inclined to donate their own personal money toward paying down the federal government’s debt, they ought to have that right to do so voluntarily,” Thune said. “This bill would make it easier for those wealthy individuals who feel they are currently under-taxed to pay more to the U.S. Treasury above and beyond their current obligations, without raising taxes on America’s job creators.”
I’m sure all those disgustingly rich liberals will be more than happy to send all their money to the government. Rep. John Scalise of Louisiana, had this to say:
“It’s ironic that President Obama is using Warren Buffett as a poster child for raising taxes at a time when the federal government is saying Berkshire Hathaway hasn’t even paid their own taxes,” Scalise said. “If Warren Buffett truly feels that he’s not paying enough in taxes, he doesn’t need a change in law to put his money where his mouth is, he can send his check for a larger amount to the Treasury today.”
In other words Mr. Buffett, Put up or shut up!
Head over to Fox News and read the entire article. It’s time for Warren Buffett and others of his ilk to just go away and leave everyone else alone.
Thatisall
