Obamaland: If at first you Don’t succeed…

Throw even more money at it! Good day all, AW here and the other shoe has dropped in the Solyndra fiasco. ABC is reporting that Obama has shipped another $500 million to another “Green” company.

Just a couple of small problems with this of course. The company isn’t even in the United States and the product, a Hybrid car, gets worse mileage than a standard SUV.

The car, The Fisker Karma is supposed to get 52mpg. However, according to Forbes the car actually gets about 19mpg. From the article by Warren Meyer:

The Fisker Karma electric car, developed mainly with your tax money so that a bunch of rich VC’s wouldn’t have to risk any real money, has rolled out with an nominal EPA MPGe of 52.

Not bad?  Unfortunately, it’s a sham.  This figure is calculated using the grossly flawed EPA process that substantially underestimates the amount of fossil fuels required to power the electric car, as I showed in great depth in an earlier Forbes.com article.  In short, the EPA methodology leaves out, among other things, the conversion efficiency in generating the electricity from fossil fuels in the first place.

Oops! Now how did that happen?

In the Clinton administration, the Department of Energy (DOE) created a far superior well to wheels MPGe metric the honestly compares the typical fossil fuel use of an electric vs. gasoline car.

So the DOE decided against using a standard that is accurate for one that isn’t? Now why is that I wonder? Well, ABC news did a little digging, (Which is a shock in of its self, going after their favorite president?) and found out that the the people behind this car have ties big campaign bundlers for Obama.

The article ABC posted, Car Company Gets U.S. Loan, Builds Cars In Finland, is extensive and I recommend going through it. They lay out everything and it doesn’t make Obama or Biden look good.

The whole mess gets even better. The car isn’t even being built in the United States. It’s being made in FINLAND! Once again we see just how Obama and the Democrats see the people of the America, sheep needed to be herded and shorn.

It is a pretty car though, but then so was the Tesla and that was ripped apart by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson a few years ago. Tesla was so upset about that, they sued for libel. The courts recently ruled against them and in favor of Top Gear. 🙂

Obama and his cronies are actively working to destroy the nation. We shouldn’t be surprised. He did announce that he intended to “Fundamentally change how America works” during the 2008 campaign. Pity that only 48% understood that Obama’s plan was to turn the United States into a failed Third World kleptocracy.

As I said, the car does look good. I’m sure the Hollywood elites will love it. Warren Meyer also thinks so:

I will say, though, that the Fisker Karma does serve a social purpose — Hollywood celebrities and the ultra rich, who want to display their green credentials, no longer have to be stuck with a little econobox.   They can now enjoy a little leg room and luxury.

Yep, for the weirdos in Hollywood, it’s all about how they feel, not actually accomplishing anything.

Yep, pretty car indeed. Not like the Prius which a coworker of mine said he used to pick out of his grill work when he drove big rigs.
