Why I don’t watch Bill O’Reilly

Good day all. This is going to be an odd posting for me. Most of the people who read this blog would assume I live on the Fox Channel and just hang on every word said by Bill O’Reilly. You would be in error in that belief.

I used to watch O’Reilly, but stopped paying any attention to him several years ago when O’Reilly backed his rather left of center buddy Gerry Rivers Geraldo Rivera went on a rampage against Michelle Malkin in 2007 with regards to her stand on Illegal Immigration. (She is against it as I am. Gerry is all for it) Rather than ask Gerry to tone it down, he basically aided him. Michelle Malkin decided to no longer appear on the O’Reilly show after that, although she does continue appearing on other Fox Programs.

That really was just the beginning of my distaste of Bill O’Reilly. He likes to claim he is “Fair and Balanced,” but his idea of fair and balanced leaves me with a bitter taste. One of the people he will have on his show, and apparently also a good friend, is Al Sharpton. Sharpton is a corrupt, bigoted race hustling poverty pimp who, with his big mouth, has ruined reputations and gotten people killed. As I right this posting, Sharpton is doing his race hustling garbage and fomenting race riots over the shooting of Trayvon Martin ((I have purposely NOT commented on this due to lack of information)).

On occasion, as I’m flipping channels, I will hit Fox when O’Reilly is on. He may have a conservative guest on, and when questioning him, tends to interrupt the guest and not allow them to actually answer the question O’Reilly posed. To be fair, when he has a liberal on he has a habit of doing the same thing, but it doesn’t see to happen as often.

Bill O’Reilly is opposed to abortion, which is a conservative stand. However, you might be surprised at how many liberals are opposed to it as well. O’Reilly does seem to like open borders to some extent, and is opposed to rounding up those in the United States illegally. (Which is why he backed Rivera over Michelle Malkin) He also seems to like big government.

In my opinion, for what little it’s worth, he is what we call a RINO. Basically he mouths some of the conservative Republican talking points but basically likes most of the liberal agenda. I really don’t understand why those on the left hate O’Reilly so much. He really isn’t that far from their point of view.

Now some would say that I live in an echo chamber. I only listen to those who I agree with. To this I wold say, “Yes and No.” I do tend to listen to people who are close to my views, but I also try to listen to other viewpoints as well. I just can’t stand blatant stupidity, which is about all we see in the modern Liberal Progressive commentator these days.

O’Reilly pretends to espouse the Conservative viewpoint, but in his alleged goal to be “Fair and Balanced,” he comes across as not much better than the average MSNBC personality. In fact, I think he should move his show down to MSNBC. Other than the lack of foul language, he would fit right in.

Oh, I don’t watch Hannity that much either, although for different reasons.

We quit watching. His career is #1 priority and his attitude will turn on a dime depending on who he thinks is winning the popular argument.

Problem with Bill is. He tries to show how FAIR he is. I don’t want fair. I want RIGHT. On some things he takes postitons that I do agree with. others no.  And some of his guests. Just will not watch when Shaprton or Coombs show up. With Coombs, you get the dqaily DNC talking points. Period
