Lost in the news that Chief Justice Roberts had just destroyed the Republic was the news that the House of Representatives had voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of congress.
This is the first time in history that this has happened. There have been a number of near misses of the centuries, but in the end, Congress got what it was looking for. Not this time. Holder and Obama have been stonewalling Congress over the Fast&Furious gunwalking fiasco.
The Democrats, in their usual manner, walked out of congress or otherwise refused to vote on this. There were 17 exception to this. The Congressional Black Racist Caucus as expected screamed that it was all a racist attack against the first black AG. I guess it really doesn’t matter to them about the 2-300 slaughtered Mexican citizens and the one ((Brian Terry)) or two ((Jaime Zapata)) dead Federal agents. They weren’t black after all. Just dirty brown people or racist white people.
This attitude pretty much describes your average Racist Progressive Liberal Democrat of course. They would rather put the party and their power and privileges over the constitution and the rule of law. People like like Nancy Pelosi and Obama mouthpiece and shill Jay Carney can’t even remember Brian Terry’s name ((Pelosi and Carney can’t recall Agent’s name)). They do not consider the constitution and the laws applicable to them. All that matters is ruling over the peons and looting the treasury. Trying to find out why all these people ended up dead? Nope, not important.
So what happens next?
This is where the fun begins. Theoretically, the House could issue a warrant for Holder’s arrest. This is known as inherent contempt. Here are some of the details from the Washington Times:
Despite voting to hold Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. in contempt of Congress, there’s little House Republicans can do in the short term to compel him to turn over documents — unless it wanted to revisit a long-dormant power and arrest him.
Now this could be fun! However there are a few problems with this.
The thought is shocking, and conjures up a Hollywood-ready standoff scene between House police and the FBI agents who protect the attorney general. It’s a dramatic and unlikely possibility not least because Congress doesn’t even have a jail any longer. But in theory it could happen.
I know a number of people who would be more than happy to build a jail for Holder. Basically, all that is needed is some space in the Congress, perhaps in the new “Secret” congressional bunker ((United States Capitol Visitors Center)), some bars, a cot and a chemical toilet. Heck, we could go 19th century and give him a chamber pot. ((Chamber pots))
Of course, the big crybaby and all around ‘fraidycat, John Boehner, won’t do that.
Republicans say it’s not even under consideration, with House Speaker John A. Boehner’s spokesman flatly ruling it out.
But the process, known as inherent contempt, is well-established by precedent, has been confirmed by multiple Supreme Court rulings, and is available to any Congress willing to force such a confrontation.
And use it we should! Is there a real reason the big crybaby won’t use this power?
“The House is scared to death to use the inherent contempt power,” said Mort Rosenberg, a fellow at the Constitution Project and author of “When Congress Comes Calling.” “They’re scared to death because the courts have said … the way the contempt power is used is unseemly. It’s not that it’s unconstitutional, because it’s been upheld by four Supreme Court decisions, but unseemly to have somebody go arrest the attorney general.”
Oh cry me a river. Only inside the Beltway are people concerned about it being “unseemly” to take that slimy, lying racist pile of bovine droppings and toss his corrupt ass into a jail somewhere. What are they going to do if and when they finally get the documents, they show that not only was Holder apprised of the operation, both he and Obama along with others in the cabinet knew from the beginning that the guns would get away from them AND that people would be killed? What will the response be if the Documents show the ONLY reason for Fast & Furious was to set up a back door way to shut down the Second Amendment, and that they needed dead bodies to do this?
Yeah, right. I wonder if Boehner is aware that the Bride of Dracula Minority leader Nancy Pelosi said she could have used this on Karl Rove. In fact:
Back in 2007 and 2008, there was substantial interest in Congress‘ arrest powers, with CNN even doing a segment in 2008 trying to figure out where Mr. Rove could have been jailed if the House chose to go that route.
Pelosi and the Commicrats had far less justification to use this power, but hey, since when did Democrats care about abusing their power. It’s “For the children” after all.
So, the next step was a vote to hold Holder in Civil Contempt and authorized the House to file a civil lawsuit. Fat lot of good THAT will do, in my opinion. The whole point of the Executive Privilege clam and the stonewalling was to push this past the election. There are a few possible reasons for this.
- Obama wins and the Democrats regain the House. In that circumstance, Pelosi will kill the investigation just as dead as Brian Terry. The odds of this happening are very low unless the Democrats steal the elections.
- Obama wins but the House remains Republican and the Senate is held by the Democrats. The odds for the Senate remaining Democrat are dropping daily, but it could happen. If so, Obama will continue to stonewall the House. At this point all the could do would be to try for Impeachment. The Democrats will kill that dead.
- Obama wind but the House and Senate go full Republican. Obama will continue to stonewall knowing that the Democrats in the Senate will not allow an Impeachment to go through and will also tie up calls for a special prosecutor.
Now what will probably happen is Obama loses in November, the House remains Republican and they pick up more seats, and the Senate also goes Republican. Romney would take office on January 20th, 2013 and no doubt he would hand over the records, and probably look at setting up a special prosecutor. Obama, in this scenario, will hand out pardons to anyone who was involved including Holder. This assumes that Obama knows he’s covered and won’t be prosecuted.
Place your bets and spin the Wheel of Pardons Ladies and Gentlemen! Will Obama pardon all his cronies? If he does, what does that mean for the victims of Fast & Furious? Considering the criminality of the Democrats in general and Obama in particular, I suspect Issa, Boehner and the other Republicans will need to give this serious consideration.
