Will Mike Dukakis finally make it to Washington?

In 2004, Massachusetts Senator John “Liveshot” Kerry was running for President. For about 5 minutes he actually had a chance. The Massachusetts Great and General Court, controlled by Democrats, was horrified that a Republican Governor would have the chance to appoint Kerry’s replacement.

Since they didn’t want to lose the seat, The legislature, with the backing of Senator Fat-boy Kennedy passed legislation to take that privilege away from the governor.

In it’s place they decided that the seat would remain vacant until a special election could be held. (I think it’s 5 months)

Well, now they have a vacant seat, (Ted the Swimmer croaked recently), and there’s a left wing democrat occupying the office of Governor. So now is the time to “Correct an error in the law” and allow the governor to appoint an interim senator.

Guess who they have in mind for the seat?

Yep, they are actually thinking of sending former Governor and presidential candidate Michael Stanley Dukakis to Washington to fill the seat recently vacated by the untimely death [1] of Senator Ted Kennedy.

For those of you either to young to remember, or from different areas of the country. Mike Dukakis is considered one of the worst governors in the history of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Mike Dukakis never met a tax he didn’t want to hike or a convicted murder he didn’t want to send on a vacation. [See Willie Horton]

Unfortunately, it looks like changing the law once again is pretty much of a done deal. Massachusetts Pols are some of the most arrogant and corrupt in the country, rivaling those in Chicago, the state of Illinois and the White House.

Unlike the corrupt pols in the other states, the ones in Massachusetts are also not noted for being the brightest bulbs in the lamp. If Governor Patrick is stupid enough, (And he probably is), we’re going to have Senator Michael Stanley Dukakis voting the straight Obama line in a few weeks.

The only question is, will he run in the special election to retain the seat? If he does, will the people of Massachusetts be stupid enough to vote him in? (Rhetorical question. Of COURSE they are!)

It’s times like this that I”m glad I live in New Hampshire.
