Lying fossilized trees deny global warming!

Yes, it can now be said that ancient, fossilized trees are now part of the conspiracy to deny the truth of Global Warming. These trees, no doubt corrupted by the “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” have added their voices, (As much as dead trees can talk), to the debate.

And now, here’s what is actually going on. Scientists, doing actual research as opposed to manufacturing results to fit their beliefs, have confirmed that the world was actually a bit warmer back in the days of the Roman Empire. The Daily Mail has the story:

Rings in fossilised pine trees have proven that the world was much warmer than previously thought – and the earth has been slowly COOLING for 2,000 years.

Measurements stretching back to 138BC prove that the Earth is slowly cooling due to changes in the distance between the Earth and the sun.

So, the climate is more likely to be affected by that big yellow hot ball in the sky then my SUV?

The finding may force scientists to rethink current theories of the impact of global warming.

Oh I doubt that. People who believe in Global Warming, or as they like to call it these days, “Climate Change” are religious fanatics. They will only listen to the great Goracle, AlGore.

It is the first time that researchers have been able to accurately measure trends in global temperature over the last two millennia.

Excuse me? The first time? I was under the impression that the science for Global Warming Climate Change was settled and that unless we killed 90% of the human race and had the remainder move into caves, we were ALL GOING TO DIE AND THE EARTH WOULD BECOME JUST LIKE VENUS!!

Over that time, the world has been getting cooler – and previous estimates, used as the basis for current climate science, are wrong.

Their findings demonstrate that this trend involves a cooling of -0.3°C per millennium due to gradual changes to the position of the sun and an increase in the distance between the Earth and the sun.

‘This figure we calculated may not seem particularly significant,’ says Esper, ‘however, it is also not negligible when compared to global warming, which up to now has been less than 1°C.

Hmm, I guess we aren’t all going to burn up in a runaway greenhouse from all that CO2 in the air next month after all.

‘Our results suggest that the large-scale climate reconstruction shown by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) likely underestimate this long-term cooling trend over the past few millennia.’

Underestimated? More like ignored. Don’t forget that billions of dollars in grant money, not to mention subsidies to “Green Tech” companies like Solyndra were at stake.

The finding was based on semi-fossilised tree rings found in Finnish lapland.

Professor Dr. Jan Esper’s group at the Institute of Geography at JGU used tree-ring density measurements from sub-fossil pine trees originating from Finnish Lapland to produce a reconstruction reaching back to 138 BC.

In so doing, the researchers have been able for the first time to precisely demonstrate that the long-term trend over the past two millennia has been towards climatic cooling.

‘We found that previous estimates of historical temperatures during the Roman era and the Middle Ages were too low,’ says Esper. ‘Such findings are also significant with regard to climate policy, as they will influence the way today’s climate changes are seen in context of historical warm periods.’

I hope Michael Mann ((Michael E. Mann)) enjoys his new Hockey Stick ((The Hockey Stick Controversy)) suppository. It has just been inserted by this report at an exceptionally high velocity. Hopefully Romney and his people will see this and use it to bash Obama, Chu and Salazar over their corrupt, incompetent heads. There is no global warming and and never was. It was a massive fraud and with each new formal and scientifically validated investigation, fall further and further into disrepute. Of course, for the true believers and those who profit by this fraud, (*cough* Al Gore), it is a religion. Perhaps it’s time to cut down a tree, run it through a saw mill and then build a nice cross on which to nail AlGore. Then he can be a real martyr.

Naa, he won’t go for that. He’s in it for the cash ((Al Gore could become world’s first carbon billionaire)), nothing more.
