Obama’s October Surprise?

Good day all. As you may have seen over the last few weeks, the Obama campaign has started accusing Governor Mitt Romney of being a criminal. The first accusation was over some paperwork issues with Bain Capitol after Romney left the company.

This was promptly shot down by several Bain executives. Because of the laws at the time and how Governor Romney left the company, his name was still on a number of documents. Apparently it took a couple of years of work to totally unwind Romney from Bain Capitol. Romney had no input to anything with regards to Bain after he left the company. This didn’t stop the Obama campaign with the help of the Obama Steno Pool from flat out lying about the whole situation.

Now the latest smear is over Romney not releasing one million years of tax records. Here are the details from the Weekly Standard:

The latest web ad from Barack Obama’s campaign goes after Mitt Romney for not releasing more tax returns than he already has. The ad, titled “Mitt Romney’s Tax Returns: When Will He Come Clean?,” at one point flashes two words onscreen, “FELONS” and “TAX RECORDS.”

Of course the reason Romney hasn’t released any more records is not to give Der Fubar any more ammunition. (In this case blanks) When Romney was being looked at in 2008 by the McCain campaign as a possible VP, he handed over 23 years worth of records. They found nothing in those records to preclude Romney from being the VP if McCain had chosen him over Governor Palin.

This hasn’t stopped The SCoaMF’s campaign of course.

The words, “FELONS” and “TAX RECORDS,” are displayed onscreen for at least six seconds, so the Obama campaign wants to make sure its viewers see the words.

Given the title of the ad–and the subject–the ad wants viewers to consider that Mitt Romney might not be releasing more tax returns because, the Obama campaign is suggesting, he might be a felon. (Watch the ad here.)

This isn’t the first time the Obama campaign has accused Romney of possibly being a felon. Last month, Stephanie Cutter, an Obama deputy campaign manager, said that Romney is either a liar or a felon.

So what has all this to do with an October Surprise? I have a sneaking suspicion that Eric Holder might come up with a bogus charge and arrest Romney a week or so before the election. Considering Obama’s past history of dirty elections ((Obama’s political dirty tricks)), I wouldn’t put this stunt past him. There are enough people who think that “Well, they arrested him, so he must be guilty!” that it could give the election to Obama and possibly throw a number of House and Senate seats that should be going to the Republicans back to the Democrats.

Of course, if this ever actually came up in front of a judge, it would be laughed out of court. By then, the damage would have been done and Der Fubar would have his ass in the White House for another four years and possibly control of both houses of Congress again. If that were to happen, look out! They would go full bore into finishing what they started in 2009-2010.
