Epic Fail, BAN CHICK-FIL-A!

Greetings all. Yesterday was Chick-fil-A Appreciation day nationwide. This came about when the CEO of Chick-fil-A, Dan Cathy, made the comment that he was opposed to gay marriage. From what I read, this was his personal opinion and not corporate policy.

Chick-fil-A is known as a “Christian” company. They traditionally close on Sundays, however, they do not discriminate either in employment or in services. Like most companies, they don’t care about your background, only your money. In other words, the standard free enterprise model.

What happened next was a classic case of Liberal Fascism by the Democratic party. Right off the bat the Gay lobby and members of the Politically Correct class went off the deep end. They started demanding boycotts and making the usual noises about destroying the company. As usual, most people ignored them and went right on eating their chicken sandwiches. Then Thomas “Mumbles” Menino, the Mayor of the City of Boston Massachusetts opened his mouth and inserted his foot…right up to the hip. Mumbles said he would make very difficult for Chick-fil-A to obtain licenses for a restaurant in Boston.

Doubling down on Stupid was Rahm Emanuel, the Mayor of Chicago. His problems started when Alderman Proco Joe Moreno announced that he would block Chick-fil-A’s effort to build its second Chicago store, which would be in the Logan Square neighborhood, following company President Dan Cathy’s remarks last week that he was “guilty as charged” for supporting the biblical definition of marriage as between a man and woman. ((Chicago Tribune)) Emanuel, rather than pulling Moreno back from the cliff, jumped off with him.

Several other Mayors, all in “Blue Cities” also made noises about banning Chick-fil-A. However, they ran into one small problem. What they were doing was blatantly discriminatory. In a Fox News story:

As Chicago became the latest city to tell Chick-fil-A it isn’t welcome because its president doesn’t support gay marriage, legal experts said the communities don’t have a drumstick to stand on.

Barring the popular fast-food restaurant over the personal views of Cathy is an “open and shut” discrimination case, legal scholars told FoxNews.com.

“The government can regulate discrimination in employment or against customers, but what the government cannot do is to punish someone for their words,” said Adam Schwartz, senior attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois. “When an alderman refuses to allow a business to open because its owner has expressed a viewpoint the government disagrees with, the government is practicing viewpoint discrimination.”

Menino and Emanuel are slowly backing off their threats as more and more people tell them to take their fascist plans and shove them where the sun don’t shine. Mayors such as “His Imperial Royal Highness, Michael Bloomberg the Last” flat out said that banning Chick-fil-A over the statements of Dan Cathy was a clear violation of free speech. When you’ve lost “The Great Nanny,” you don’t have leg, (Or drumstick), to stand on.

Of course, this didn’t stop the Progressive Left Wing, the Gay Lobby and other on the intolerant left from staring a boycott. They have the right to do that of course. They can’t stand anyone having an opinion that isn’t in line with their views, and people/companies that don’t toe the line have to be crushed! No one will stop them starting a boycott, except, everyone else in the United States.

Fox News commentator and former Governor Mike Huckabee decided to fight back against the “Tolerant Progressive Left” by telling people to go to Chick-fil-A and buying a sandwich. Yesterday, August 1^st 2012 was “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day and it was a roaring success for traditional Americans and Chick-fil-A’s bottom line. Around the nation, people were lined up, in some cases for blocks, to buy chicken sandwiches. Reports say that these lines went on all day long. At restaurants with drive through windows, cars were out into the streets and around the buildings. Every single manager reported that this was their best day in history.

So how did the left respond? As usual, with bomb threats. From the Journal:

MARTINSBURG Aug. 1 – Police and fire crews closed down the Chick-fil-A on Foxcroft Avenue in Martinsburg for nearly three hours following a bomb threat that was called in just before 1 p.m. today.

The caller mentioned that a “device” had been placed within the restaurant. The building was evacuated, but was deemed safe at about 3:45 p.m. after no bomb or any other type of device was discovered.

Martinsburg City Police and the Martinsburg Fire Department personnel investigated the scene, along with Berkeley County Sheriff Kenny Lemaster. A National Park Ranger with a canine unit arrived at the scene at approximately 2:45 p.m. to assist, and a second from the West Virginia State Police arrived later as well.

No bomb was found of course, and the restaurant reopened to massive crowds. This is typical for the Progressive left of course. They want to punish anyone who disagrees with them. A large number have gone as far as to say things like “Those Teabaggers, (That would be people who support the Tea Party) should be locked up in camps!” “Those people! How dare they? The racists! They are Nazi’s!”

And to that I say, Up Yours! We won, (as usual), and You LOST! (As usual) Now I will say I didn’t take part in this. First, I didn’t know about it until it was to late, (I had already eaten), and second I didn’t know there was a Chick-fil-A anywhere near me. (There is, about 2 miles from me) However, the good people at the Anti-idiotarian Rottweiler happily ate my share. This was a clear demonstration to the Liberal, Progressive Left that they have lost and lost big time. It will take a while to fully flush their putrid influence from the system, and you know they won’t go down quietly. You can help of course by voting out the democrats and their Rino pals in November.
