Obamacare to raise the price of pizza!

Good day all. As we are rapidly finding out, irregardless of what some people may think, Obamacare is going to raise healthcare costs through the roof. It will also destroy the finest medical system on Earth. Now, we have another reason to stop Obamacare dead.

That reason is pizza. The head of Papa John’s Pizza has announced that if Obamacare goes into effect, he will have to raise the price of his fine product between $0.14 – $0.20 each. Here is the story from Politico:

Pizza chain Papa John’s told shareholders that President Obama’s health care law will cost consumers more on their pizza.

On a conference call last week, CEO and founder John Schnatter (a Mitt Romney supporter and fundraiser) said the health care law’s changes — set to go into effect in 2014 — will result in higher costs for the company —which they vowed to pass onto consumers.

“Our best estimate is that the Obamacare will cost 11 to 14 cents per pizza, or 15 to 20 cents per order from a corporate basis,” Schnatter said.

As you should know, if you read The Musings of the Angry Webmaster, Papa John’s is the “Official” Pizza of Anger Central. The Angry Systems Administrator wrote up a nice review last month explaining why we like it. To continue:

“We’re not supportive of Obamacare, like most businesses in our industry. But our business model and unit economics are about as ideal as you can get for a food company to absorb Obamacare,” he said.

“If Obamacare is in fact not repealed, we will find tactics to shallow out any Obamacare costs and core strategies to pass that cost onto consumers in order to protect our shareholders best interests,” Schnatter vowed.

I can’t argue with Mr. Schnatter. He has to look out for the interests of his shareholders. Also, $0.14 isn’t that much. However, multiply that by all the other increases that companies will be passing on, and it adds up massively. Since Our “Dear Leader” lied his way into the Oval office, costs have skyrocketed across the board. Thanks to Der Fubar and his minions, millions are out of work. Obama and his crew of scum have actively attacked private enterprise and destroyed of prevented the creation of millions, possibly tens of million of jobs.

If I were on the Romney Campaign, I would use this against Obama. I would say something like. “Thanks to Obamacare, the cost of YOUR pizza WILL be going up. Vote Romney on November 6^th, 2012”

People might have a problem with some of the wonk stuff both sides like to put out. Tell someone that the other candidate is going to cause your pizza to be more expensive? THAT will get their attention.
