New highs in government lows

Good day all, I was rummaging around that internet thingy and saw a couple of stories demonstrating just how far gone our government, at all levels, is.

My first story was one I saw on Fox News the other day. The original story appears to have aged off, but this is the followup report.

Martha Boneta, owner of Liberty Farms in the northern village of Paris, was threatened with nearly $5,000 in fines for selling produce and crafts and throwing unlicensed events, including a birthday party for her best friend’s child. She told FoxNews.com she wasn’t doing anything farmers haven’t done for generations, and at a recent zoning board meeting, her agrarian friends literally showed up with pitchforks to express their support.

“It’s rather odd that I’m the only farmer in the county having these issues,” Boneta said. “It’s customary to do these things. It’s done through on farms throughout Virginia to help farming and agriculture.”

Obviously, we have a criminal mastermind here. How dare she do something that has been going on for centuries?

Boneta was told that she did not have the proper event permits for the party and other events, including wine tastings, craft workshops, and pumpkin carving.

“Why I would need a permit for a pumpkin carving?” she said.

Why indeed? Her neighbors are backing her of course and in a way that should have the local morons thinking a bit.

Pitchfork-wielding Virginia farmers rallied to support a woman who claims local officials came down on her for, among other things, hosting a children’s birthday party on her spread.

Head over to Fox and read all about this government idiocy. I would recommend that the locals removes the entire government at the next election. The other bit of idiocy is actually worse. Thanks to a stupid government, a boy and his disabled parents have been rendered homeless.

In a story on Mlive.com we find out about young Nathan Duszynski, 13, who was trying to make a little money to help his disabled parents.

It’s been a tough summer for Nathan Duszynski and his parents, Lynette and Douglas Johnson. 13-year-old Duszynski, who has become something of a local celebrity after his attempt to start a hot dog stand business was stymied by Holland City Hall, has checked into the Holland Rescue Mission with his mother for an indefinite stay.

How did this happen? A teenager rather than lie around playing Halo, goes out and tries to earn some money for his parents? Here’s the answer.

Nathan’s hot dog stand, set up in the parking lot of Reliable Sports, was shut down by the city due to zoning laws designed to protect downtown restaurants from competition and clarify Michigan’s Youth Employment Standards Act of 1978.

And there it is. He wasn’t one of the “Special people” and so the government shut him down and rendered his family homeless. Once again we see just how tyrannical government in this country has become, and it’s going to get a lot worse without some major changes come November. How much worse? As was mentioned in the first story, farmers showed up with pitchforks to protest the attempts of the government to fine Ms. Boneta. IN this case, they were nothing more than props. The worst case scenario would be a repeat of the Battle of Athens Georgia ((The McMinn County War)).

This scenario would have another name. Civil War. The government elites, primarily, (Although not exclusively Democrats) have so corrupted the system that more and more people are beginning to think that the constitution is dead and that the only hope is the use of force. Personally, I wold like to avoid this even if Thomas Jefferson saw a need for it on occasion. The last time was bad enough.

Remember in November and VOTE the morons out!

“God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. …

And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

It is its natural manure.”
