Obama’s body count in the War on Coal

Has just added another 1200 victims. Good day all. As we’ve all learned, Our Fearful Hindmost, King Putt, just hates coal. He also hates oil, gas, free speech, free enterprise, Christianity, Judaism, (Although he loves Islam apparently) and of course, America.

However, for this post, I’m going to talk about King Coal. Obama hates coal. His minions in the EPA have been striving to destroy the coal industry as quickly as possible. Well, Der Fubar has scored another kill. In a story on Fox News, 1,200 coal mining jobs have been eliminated in the Appalachian region.

The announcement that 1,200 coal-mining jobs have been eliminated across central Appalachia has sparked renewed cries that Obama administration policies are crippling domestic-energy production and jobs — and is already factoring into the 2012 presidential race.

I seem to recall the SCoaMF got the Miners union endorsement in 2008. This time around, they said no thanks. I wonder why?

Alpha Natural Resources announced Tuesday its plan to cut the positions and scale back coal production by 16 million tons annually — which would result in eight mine closings in Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Four-hundred workers will be laid off immediately, though the company reportedly may try to re-hire some of the 1,200.

I do hope they can hire them back. Frankly they should never have been let go in the first place. However the mining companies are having trouble in this environment, just like everyone else.

Kevin Crutchfield, the company’s chief executive officer, said the lay-offs and the closings of the non-union mines are the result a difficult market in which power plants are switching to abundant, less-expensive natural gas and “a regulatory environment that’s aggressively aimed at constraining the use of coal.”

Or any other form of energy, (Other than Unicorn farts), for that matter. Thanks to King Putt’s EPA, Energy Department and the Department of the Interior, energy production is falling faster than a hookers undergarments at a political convention. Needless to say, others aren’t being as “Diplomatic” as Mr. Krutchfield.

However, elected officials and business groups have been less oblique in their analysis, saying Alpha employees are victims of President Obama’s so-called “War on Coal.”

The Mitt Romney campaign is among the most recent to put the blame squarely on the president, releasing a TV ad Wednesday that reminds voters about what Obama said in 2008.

“If somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can, it’s just that it will bankrupt them,” the president said, in a quote interpreted by critics as a campaign promise that coal would have no future in an Obama White House.

I remember that quote by Obama when it came out. Of course, the Obama Steno Pool studiously ignored it in their quest to elect “The Most Incompetent and Corrupt President in History!” The First African American President in History! Now, people are getting really mad.

West Virginia Republican Rep. Shelley Moore Capito acknowledged this week that several factors, including the declining price of natural gas, have led to recent mine closures. But she said the Environmental Protection Agency’s “extreme rules and regulations played a major role.”

Again, Representative Moore is being to kind. The EPA is almost totally responsible for this. Yes, there is an economic segment to this, but I know that coal fired plants are being forced to shut down, (The primary purchaser of coal, of course), and there are no replacement plants coming online yet. Energy companies have begged to stretch out the time lines mandated by the totalitarian thugs at the EPA, but to no avail. I have first hand knowledge of the damage this is causing certain regions in the country. We aren’t that far from rolling blackouts.

“The president’s extreme policies are crippling entire towns and making it harder for workers to find jobs,” Capito, co-founder of the Congressional Coal Caucus, said in a written statement. “Because of the president’s War on Coal, thousands of West Virginia families have to worry about where their next paycheck is going to come from.”

No need to worry, Uncle Obama will just take the money from those evil mine owners and redistribute it to the miners. Then they can sit home, drink beer and cling to their guns and religion. Now Representative Capito is fighting back against the Obama Tyranny.

She has added language to a bill which the Republican-controlled House is expected to vote on this week that would force the EPA to consider the impact on jobs and the economy when issuing new rules and regulations.

With all due respect Representative, the time for reigning in the EPA is long past. The time has come to strip them of any regulatory authority, defund the agency and shut them down. If some pinhead federal judge tries to interfere, then you need to impeach him/her.

Billy Raney, president of the West Virginia Coal Association, said the EPA has specifically created “impossible standards” for electricity-generating plants. He also said the EPA is now “bullying” West Virginia into accepting water-quality standards over which the state once had some determination.

It’s time to stop play games with these EPA thugs. They have shown they don’t give a damn for the rule of law. West Virginia, and all the states being affected by these regulations need to start pushing back dramatically. That means refusing the diktats of the Washington bureaucrats and being willing to back it up with force. If they send in federal agents, they need to be met with state and local police as well as National Guard troops. (Re-designate them as state militia and if Obama tries to federalize them, refuse the order)

Obama, perhaps due to his coal policies and other factors, faces dim chances in West Virginia come November. Keith Judd, a felon incarcerated in Texas, won 40.7 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary. And neither West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin III nor Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin attended this month’s Democratic National Convention.

That’s due to their soon becoming toast. Actually burned toast. No, with further thought, that would be toast on fire soaked with gasoline. The bitter clingers have had it with the Progressive Left Wing Democrats, (Yes I know, I’m repeating myself)

When it came out in 2008 that Obama was going to wreck the coal industry, no one believed him. (Of course the Obama Steno Pool did cover it up) Now they know different and people are not so much angry as enraged.

Your choice America.

Remember in November!
