Credit Reports

Credit reports rule. You can't even nowadays get a job if you have a low credit score. Since most companies now use them to field-out potential employees. Every time now when someone applies to a job, someone hands you a piece of paper to sign and everytime you apply to a job and you sign the paper and the company run your credit report it lowers the score again anyway. I wouldn't complain if it was good but you know life happens. I fell behind in payments to some creditors. I just feel it is unfair. I know I am a very good employee. I do my job, but if you are judged by the credit report I feel the company is losing out on a darn good worker. I am just disgusted sometimes because why can't everyone pay the same amount for goods and services. It just seems so very unfair sometimes. I feel that it is just another way to discriminate. People would not duck from their creditors if they could pay. But on the other hand, if you manage to get your bills all caught up then it is recorded as being late and have a record of how long it took to pay the debt off. Why can't they just put it as paid even though it took awhile without recording how long it took a person to pay if off. It just stinks.

*Note from Anger Central
The theory behind checking a potential employee's credit report is to see if they have a history of being a deadbeat and untrustworthy. Now, considering the accuracy of a lot of these reports, they shouldn't be the sole judge of character, but a lot of companies, especially in the financial services industry use them exclusively. We would recommend that you be upfront with them and say you have had credit problems in the past. If this costs you a job, look at getting a shyster...err.. lawyer and taking action against the employer and/or the credit reporting services.
