Memorial for bumblebees?

Every once in a while, we see an example of utter stupidity from the Progressive Liberal Democrats. First there was a bunch of moonbats crying over a dead tree, then there was PETA wanting a roadside memorial for a bunch of dead fish.

Now, we have another group of STOOPIDS who are going to have a memorial for a bunch of dead bees. No, I’m not joking. I noticed a story about a pile of dead bees in a parking lot in Oregon. I noted it and moved on, figuring someone had screwed up with some pesticides. (Which is what happened) I assumed that if this was a screw up, someone would have to pay a fine and chalk it up to lessons learned. What I didn’t expect was the Moonbat brigade marching into town. Here’s the details from the Oregonian:

Fifty thousand bumblebees will be honored in a memorial this weekend at the Wilsonville Target where a majority of the insects died. State officials directly linked the die-off to trees that had been sprayed with the insecticide Safari.

*blink* *blink*

A memorial for dead insects? Excuse me, but that many bees die in this country every second of the day. They are not the longest living creatures on Earth ((Life cycle of bees)). Now why are these non-endangered moonbats doing this? (Yes I know, they ARE moonbats after all)

Rozzell Medina, of Portland, said on the Facebook page that the event will “memorialize these fallen lifeforms and talk about the plight of the bees and their importance to life on Earth.”

Teh Stoopid! It Burns brightly in this one!

The Stupid

Ok, now bees are important. They pollinate all the crops we need to eat, so some idiots hitting them with insecticide is not a good thing. On the other hand, sometimes you have no choice but to wipe out a hive. This happened to me the first summer after purchasing the Anger Central Primary Dwelling. I heard a buzzing in the walls and found a hive. The only way to deal with them was to gas them, which I had done. Sorry moonbats, I’m more important then a bunch of bees that decided the walls of my home were theirs to move into.

“I thought it would be a good opportunity for people to see that this is not just a news item,” Medina said.”With a lot of these ecological catastrophes, they become so abstract that people become scared to feel them.”

Medina said he will bring food to the memorial that relies on bees for pollination. The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.

And I’m sure all 5 people who show up will join you in a nice cry at the memory of a bunch if dead insects. All the rest of us? We’re going to be doing other things, like watching reruns of Gilligan’s Island. Hmm, perhaps these ninnies might decide to give a hive of African bees ((Killer Bees)) a nice group hug. That would be one way to throw some bleach into the gene pool.
