Rare Bird killed by zombie windmill!

Good day all. In keeping with the current zombie motif, I thought that would be an amusing headline. (That and I couldn’t think of anything better) In this case, a very rare bird paid a visit to Great Britain and was promptly killed by a windmill.

As you may know, windmills are the Progressive Liberal Elite’s “Big Thing To Save The Earth!” However, as I’ve noted before, they have a few problems. One of them is acting like a gigantic bird Cuisinart. In this case, the bird was a white-throated needletail and apparently the last time one was spotted was 22 years ago. Here are the details from the Daily Mail:

There had been only eight recorded sightings of the white-throated needletail in the UK since 1846. So when one popped up again on British shores this week, twitchers were understandably excited.

A group of 40 enthusiasts dashed to the Hebrides to catch a glimpse of the brown, black and blue bird, which breeds in Asia and winters in Australasia.

But instead of being treated to a wildlife spectacle they were left with a horror show when it flew into a wind turbine and was killed.

I wonder if it shouted the bird equivalent of “BANZAI!” as it kamikazed into the blades?

John Marchant, 62, who had made the trip all the way from Norfolk, said: ‘We were absolutely over the moon to see the bird. We watched it for nearly two hours.

‘But while we were watching it suddenly got a bit close to the turbine and then the blades hit it.

‘We all rushed up to the turbine, which took about five minutes, hoping the bird had just been knocked out the sky but was okay.

‘Unfortunately it had taken a blow to the head and was stone dead.

And this is the one teensy little problem all those green idiots never mention when it comes to windmills. (On top of all the other issues with them) They are bird mowing machines. In the United States, they have taken out every type of bird there is, with the possible exception of the California Condor.

The California Condor ((Basic Facts About California Condors)) is one of the rarest species of birds out there with only 279 known in the world. To my knowledge, none have been turned into ground condor meat as yet, but it is only a matter of time. In answer to this possibility, rather then give up on these silly and unreliable pieces of junk, the Federal Government has decided that it’s perfectly ok with windmills wiping out the species ((Feds won’t prosecute wind farm if turbine blades kill a condor)).

The English have always been avid bird watchers. It’s almost a stereotype with them. More and more, they are getting upset with these so called “Green Initiatives” destroying the animals and habitats they are purported to be protecting.
