Saturday, George Zimmerman was correctly acquitted of the charges of Murder 2 and Manslaughter in the death of Trayvon Martin. As expected, the morons on the left, the race hustlers and the media went nuts.
They had failed utterly in their combined attempts to railroad Zimmerman into prison where he would have been shivved by “The Brothers” in a prison shower within a year. Now the demands from the “Usual Suspects,” ((NAACP, Al Sharpton, the Congressional Black Caucus, etc)) are now demanding that the Department of InJustice indict Zimmerman on charges of violating the now terminated thug, Martin’s civil rights. The idea would be to charge Zimmerman with a “Hate Crime.” However, the DOIJ has run into a few snags. Here are some of the details from Fox News:
The Justice Department was running into immediate hurdles Monday in its investigation of possible civil rights violations by George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin — namely, that after examining the case for more than a year, the evidence has not changed.
And what is the evidence that hasn’t changed?
Though the department announced after Zimmerman’s acquittal that it would consider a possible federal case, previously filed FBI documents show agents have not turned up any accounts that Zimmerman, before the February 2012 shooting, exhibited racial bias. Sanford police detective Chris Serino also told FBI agents last year that he considered Zimmerman as having “a little hero complex, but not as a racist.
This isn’t all surprising, considering George Zimmerman’s family background. It seems that one of his ancestors happened to be black. ((CNN photo: George Zimmerman’s great-grandfather was black)) Oops! This is, of course, being ignored by the racists on the left of course, since it doesn’t fit the narrative. In point of fact, the Zimmerman family is a classic American melting pot. They’ve got a little bit of everything in there.
This isn’t going to stop that corrupt pig, Eric Holder of course.
Attorney General Eric Holder, in his first post-verdict comments, confirmed Monday during a speech in Washington, D.C., that his department continues to investigate while signaling concern for the position of the Martin family and those — such as the NAACP — pressuring the DOJ. He said the department is “mindful of the pain felt by our nation” over the “tragic, unnecessary shooting death” of Martin.
Tragic? Yes. Unnecessary? Hardly since Martin was trying to cave in Zimmerman’s skull, and a jury agrees with me. Pity that murdering scumbag ((Fast and Furious scandal)) Holder doesn’t agree with the Jury:
He added that the shooting provides an opportunity to speak “honestly” about the charged issues involved in the case, and that “we must not … let this opportunity pass.”
The opportunity being to try and railroad Zimmerman again at the Federal level.
Holder even appeared to suggest the possibility of bias in this case, saying it’s important to address “underlying attitudes, mistaken beliefs and stereotypes that serve as the basis for these too common incidents.”
Is this idiot even reading the reports from his own people? Oh who am I kidding? Of course he isn’t. This is the same racists scumbag who threw away a slam dunk case against the Black Panthers for voter intimidation. Now trying to get Zimmerman on civil rights charges is a problem. A number of people are trying to use the four cops who beat Rodney King as an example. There is just one issue. The police were charged because they WERE police officers. They represented the government and only the government has the power to deny someone’s civil rights. Zimmerman was not a government agent, he was a private citizen. As to the attempts by the prosecutors to paint Zimmerman as a racists? This is what McClatchy has to say on the subject:
Federal agents interviewed Zimmerman’s neighbors and co-workers, but none said Zimmerman had expressed racial animus at any time prior to the Feb. 26 shooting of Martin, a black teen, in a confrontation at a Sanford housing complex. As Sanford police investigated the circumstances of Martin’s death, the FBI opened a parallel probe to determine if Martin’s civil rights had been violated.
Several co-workers said they had never seen Zimmerman display any prejudice or racial bias.
Two co-workers told agents they spoke with Zimmerman the day after the shooting, and both said they noticed injuries to Zimmerman’s nose and the back of his head. One person said Zimmerman was “absolutely devastated.”
This is not the attitude of someone looking to gun down people because of their skin color. In fact, this isn’t the attitude of someone who was out to gun down anyone. As was shown in the trial, Zimmerman wasn’t aware that Martin had been killed until one of the investigators told him. Now, the DOIJ’s Civil Rights division is going to “Investigate” the case.
“The Department of Justice’s Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue to evaluate the evidence generated during the federal investigation, as well as the evidence and testimony from the state trial,” the Justice Department said in a statement Sunday. “Experienced federal prosecutors will [now] determine whether the evidence reveals a prosecutable violation of any of the limited federal criminal civil rights statutes within our jurisdiction, and whether federal prosecution is appropriate in accordance with the Department’s policy governing successive federal prosecution following a state trial.”
Thanks to Obama and Holder, the Civil Rights division has become a hard left racist group that has no interest in anyone’s rights, only in protecting those they deem worthy of constitutional rights. Although they might want to go after Zimmerman, according to Fox, they will have problems.
The department may find itself in a vulnerable spot, not only because of prior interviews which found no evidence of bias.
Yeah, there’s that lack of evidence thing again. Judges and Juries tend to like having evidence to look at.
Last week, a conservative watchdog accused an obscure agency within the DOJ of helping support the “pressure campaign” against Zimmerman in the wake of the shooting last year. Judicial Watch claimed documents and public accounts showed “extraordinary intervention” by the department in the campaign that eventually led to Zimmerman’s prosecution.
And this story was not mentioned by any of the various members of the Obama Steno Pool. Again, it didn’t fit the narrative of hard working honest lawyers working to protect the rights of Americans from governmental abuses. Ok, you can stop laughing now and remember, I do not accept responsibility for any damages to monitors or keyboards. I won’t go into the details of that story. It’s on Judicial Watch and you can read it for yourself.
The fact is, like the State of Florida, the Department of InJustice has no case. If they are actually stupid enough to charge and try Zimmerman, it will blow up in their faces even worse then it did for Angela Corey and her crew of Corrupt Cronies. Right now, they are in full damage control mode trying to save their law licenses and possibly their bank accounts. It’s looking like Zimmerman’s lawyers intend go after Corey and the others for some pretty major charges.
One of the people calling for Corey’s head is Alan Dershowitz. ((Alan Morton Dershowitz)) Dershowitz and Corey have been going at each other for over a year now, with Corey trying to get Dershowitz fired from his position at Harvard. Dershowitz pretty much accused Corey of major prosecutorial misconduct the other day. Here is the money quote:
he submitted an affidavit that was, if not perjurious, completely misleading. She violated all kinds of rules of the profession, and her conduct bordered on criminal conduct. She, by the way, has a horrible reputation in Florida. She’s known for overcharging, she’s known for being highly political. And in this case, of course she overcharged. Halfway through the trial she realized she wasn’t going to get a second degree murder verdict, so she asked for a compromised verdict, for manslaughter. And then, she went even further and said that she was going to charge him with child abuse and felony murder. That was such a stretch that it goes beyond anything professionally responsible. She was among the most irresponsible prosecutors I’ve seen in 50 years of litigating cases, and believe me, I’ve seen good prosecutors, bad prosecutors, but rarely have I seen one as bad as this prosecutor, [Angela] Corey.
Here is the interview with Mike Huckabee:

Yep, no love lost there between Dershowitz and Corey. Now I generally disagree with Alan Deshowitz on pretty much everything. We tend to agree on Israel, and here is another case of agreement. Now if the DOIJ goes after Zimmerman, they will be torn apart. It could even finish the Civil Rights Division if they try. Therefore, I think they will make a lot of noise but in the end, do nothing. They only way they would proceed with a case against Zimmerman is if they have totally lost it and have given up an any legal ethics.
