CIA was on site during Benghazi

No sooner had I posted about Jay “Liar” Carney’s saying that the Benghazi was a Phony Scandal, one of the paid up organizations of the Obama Steno Pool released a story that dozens of CIA operatives were on the ground at the consulate during the attack.

CNN broke the story Thursday, August 1, and it’s exploded all over the Internet. (Actually, there are two stories. This one about the CIA being on the ground and the story that CNN actually discovered it) The story was done by CNN’s Jake Tapper and shows that the CIA has been doing everything it can to cover up this fact. Here are the details from CNN:

CNN has uncovered exclusive new information about what is allegedly happening at the CIA, in the wake of the deadly Benghazi terror attack.

Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret.

I suspect one of those “Great Lengths” was to get General Petraeus ((David Howell Petraeus)) out of the CIA as fast as possible, probably due to his willingness to actually tell the truth, unlike anyone else in the Obama Regime.

CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy agency’s Benghazi secrets from ever leaking out.

Since January, some CIA operatives involved in the agency’s missions in Libya, have been subjected to frequent, even monthly polygraph examinations, according to a source with deep inside knowledge of the agency’s workings.

The goal of the questioning, according to sources, is to find out if anyone is talking to the media or Congress.

While I can understand wanting to keep the media out, (This IS a secret organization), stopping people from talking to Congress, especially in it’s oversight role? Not a good idea. So what has the CIA been doing to the people who were there?

It is being described as pure intimidation, with the threat that any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her career.

In exclusive communications obtained by CNN, one insider writes, “You don’t jeopardize yourself, you jeopardize your family as well.”

Another says, “You have no idea the amount of pressure being brought to bear on anyone with knowledge of this operation.”

“Agency employees typically are polygraphed every three to four years. Never more than that,” said former CIA operative and CNN analyst Robert Baer.

No that is a threat that Congress needs to know about. I have a sneaking suspicion that the head of the CIA is going to be the guest of honor at a committee BBQ…As the MEAT! Just how bad is it? This bad:

“Agency employees typically are polygraphed every three to four years. Never more than that,” said former CIA operative and CNN analyst Robert Baer.

“If somebody is being polygraphed every month, or every two months it’s called an issue polygraph, and that means that the polygraph division suspects something, or they’re looking for something, or they’re on a fishing expedition. But it’s absolutely not routine at all to be polygraphed monthly, or bi-monthly,” said Baer.

And what was the response of the CIA to all this?

CIA spokesman Dean Boyd asserted in a statement that the agency has been open with Congress.

“The CIA has worked closely with its oversight committees to provide them with an extraordinary amount of information related to the attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi,” the statement said.

“CIA employees are always free to speak to Congress if they want,” the statement continued. “The CIA enabled all officers involved in Benghazi the opportunity to meet with Congress. We are not aware of any CIA employee who has experienced retaliation, including any non-routine security procedures, or who has been prevented from sharing a concern with Congress about the Benghazi incident.”

Of course, if a member of the CIA who was on the ground during the Benghazi attack does talk to congress, they may find themselves and their family extraordinarily rendered ((Extraordinary rendition)) to their new home at Guantanamo Bay. So, just how many operatives were on the ground in Benghazi?

Among the many secrets still yet to be told about the Benghazi mission, is just how many Americans were there the night of the attack.

A source now tells CNN that number was 35, with as many as seven wounded, some seriously.

While it is still not known how many of them were CIA, a source tells CNN that 21 Americans were working in the building known as the annex, believed to be run by the agency.

I would say that most were either CIA employees or contractors working in administrative roles indirectly for the Agency. This is just a guess on my part with no basis in personal knowledge of information.

The lack of information and pressure to silence CIA operatives is disturbing to U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf, whose district includes CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

“I think it is a form of a cover-up, and I think it’s an attempt to push it under the rug, and I think the American people are feeling the same way,” said the Republican.

This wouldn’t be the first time the CIA has tried to cover things up. The last time we ended up with the Church Committee ((United States Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities)) and they pretty much gutted the CIA. Part of what we’re seeing now is a result of the damage done the last time Congress had to get involved. (Wonder where the idea of the FISA court came from? Look no further)

This time though, I think it will be actual criminal behavior and NOT stuff done by operatives in the Line of Duty. It will be those managers who are threatening the people who were on site. They might end up in the same orange jumpsuits that all those terrorists we have in Gitmo are wearing.

“We should have the people who were on the scene come in, testify under oath, do it publicly, and lay it out. And there really isn’t any national security issue involved with regards to that,” he said.

It isn’t about National Security. It’s about covering up the utter and total incompetence of Obama, Hillary Clinton and everyone involved in that fiasco.

Wolf has repeatedly gone to the House floor, asking for a select committee to be set-up, a Watergate-style probe involving several intelligence committee investigators assigned to get to the bottom of the failures that took place in Benghazi, and find out just what the State Department and CIA were doing there.

There is no way Obama, the Democrats or the Establishment RINO’s will allow that to happen. Nope, their mindset is “We must protect ourselves and our phony baloney jobs at all costs!”

In the aftermath of the attack, Wolf said he was contacted by people closely tied with CIA operatives and contractors who wanted to talk.

Then suddenly, there was silence.

“Initially they were not afraid to come forward. They wanted the opportunity, and they wanted to be subpoenaed, because if you’re subpoenaed, it sort of protects you, you’re forced to come before Congress. Now that’s all changed,” said Wolf.

One of the problems is the people involved are disappearing. According to Gateway Pundit:

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) told Greta the Obama Administration is hiding the survivors, dispersing them around the country, AND changing their names.

“Including changing names, creating aliases. Stop and think what things are most calculated to get at the truth? Talk to people with first-hand knowledge. What creates the appearance and perhaps the reality of a cover-up? Not letting us talk with people who have the most amount of information, dispersing them around the country and changing their names.”

There are a number of questions that are being asked regarding just what the heck was going on with all those CIA operatives. One of the stories out there is that they were collecting weapons from the Libyan armories, such as ManPad’s ((Man-portable air-defense systems)). Keeping these out of the hands of RIF’s is a good idea, and frankly shouldn’t be an issue. In fact, it would benefit the CIA and Der Fubar if this is what they were doing there. However, it may be they were doing a little bit more then that.

Speculation on Capitol Hill has included the possibility the U.S. agencies operating in Benghazi were secretly helping to move surface-to-air missiles out of Libya, through Turkey, and into the hands of Syrian rebels.

Shades of Fast & Furious ((ATF gunwalking scandal)) Batman! Now that CNN has blown the dam as it were, FOX News has begun digging.

Fox News has learned that at least five CIA employees were forced to sign additional nondisclosure agreements this past spring in the wake of the Benghazi attack. These employees had already signed such agreements before the attack but were made to sign new agreements aimed at discouraging survivors from leaking their stories to the media or anyone else.

As I mentioned before, I can understand not talking to the media, but I have to wonder if these NDA’s can be enforced if these people care called before a congressional committee. I could see one of the operatives called to testify saying that he can’t answer due to an NDA he was forced to sign, but my understanding is that NDA’s don’t apply in a legal hearing, and being called before congress is definitely a legal hearing. You can cite your 5^th amendment right to remain silent. Somehow, I think the people involved would rather shout to the high heavens about what was going on.

The details have fueled concerns by lawmakers that, while the government is spending much energy on keeping Benghazi personnel quiet, not enough progress has been made in tracking down those actually responsible for the strike.

No surprises there. The FBI has done nothing right about this. Yes, they have been referred to on occasion as the “Fuc**ng Bunch of Incompetents” but even they can’t be this inept. How inept?

Lawmakers pointed to a report by CNN earlier this week in which Ansar al-Sharia leader Ahmed Abu Khattala told the network that nobody from the American government has contacted him. Ansar al-Sharia is a militant group in the region considered of high interest in connection with the attack. “Even the investigative team did not try to contact me,” he told CNN.

Now why would Obama want anyone to talk to someone who might actually know who ordered the attack? After all, it might come out that they had advanced knowledge that it was coming and chose to let it happen. Far better to tell the FBI to just pretend to investigate this action. Consider that it took two WEEKS before they had agents on the ground, and they only spent a couple of hours at the scene. Now, there are members of Congress who have had it and are now calling for a Select Committee set up to specifically look into the Benghazi attack.

Some in Congress continue to press for a select committee to investigate the Sept. 11 attacks. Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, announced on Thursday that he plans to try and force a vote in Congress on creating such an investigative panel. House rules could make this an uphill effort for Stockman.

Especially if that diaper wearing crybaby Boehner doesn’t want it to happen.

The White House earlier this week claimed it considers the controversy over Benghazi — specifically over how officials initially described the nature of the attack — as “phony.” But the details about the lengths to which the government is going to keep people quiet has raised additional questions.

The CNN report said some CIA operatives are being forced to take “frequent, even monthly” lie detector tests. They’re reportedly trying to root out who is talking to reporters or members of Congress.

“You have no idea the amount of pressure being brought to bear on anyone with knowledge of this operation,” one source was quoted as saying.

I don’t think we will ever get to the bottom of this scandal while Obama remains in office. If the Democrats somehow manage to win in 2016, this and all the other criminal acts by the most corrupt administration in American history will be swept under the rug like the dirt Ambassador Stevens and the others are buried in. Perhaps, if the Republicans manage not to screw it up again, we might find out what actually happened after the 2014 midterm elections.

I’m not holding my breath.
