Good day all. Barack Obama is going to address the nation on why we need to bomb Syria into being annoyed at us. I have no intention of watching it, however, I think I can give you the gist of the speech.
The scene: President Obama sitting in the Oval Office behind his foot rest The Resolute Desk.
“Good evening. Tonight I come to you to on why I must launch a military strike on Syria. The regime of Bashar Assad, in violation of International Law has used chemical weapons on the rebel forces opposing him. I have an obligation to stop any further attacks of this nature and I have instructed the Military to prepare a plan to let Assad know that I am not happy with him using chemical weapons on civilian and the moderate, secular forces who are even now fighting to remove this tyrant and institute a democratic system of government
I believe when you have a limited proportional strike like this, with manageable risks, then we should bear that responsibility.
I am aware that this may not be a popular decision I make, however, it must be made. I have asked Congress to approve this, but due to the threat of these weapons, I will order the strike irregardless of how Congress votes.”
At this point, Secretary of State John Kerry walks into the office, leans over and whispers into Obama’s ear.
“What? You did what? Putin said what? I see.”
Kerry leaves. Obama faces the camera:
“Never mind”
The scene fades to black, much like the last shreds of Obama’s dignity.
