John Kerry: Unbelievably small strike

As expected, Il Douche’s “March to War” is looking more and more like a stumbling shamble off a cliff. Opposition to an attack on Syria is running at least 60% NO! And is probably a lot higher.

Members of congress are reporting calls into their offices as running up to 90% negative on attacking Syria and those that deigned to have meetings with their constituents were basically ripped apart for their support of Der Fubar’s planned destruction of a buinch of tents and a few camels. Now we have Secretary of State John “Liveshot ((Why Howie Carr calls Kerry Liveshot))” Kerry announcing to the world that any strike would be “Unbelievably small.” In a story in the Globe and Mail:

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said the United States is considering only an “unbelievably, small, limited” strike on Syria as punishment for allegedly using chemical weapons and he insisted military action will not end that country’s civil war.

So we are going to whack Assad over the nose with a rolled up newspaper and say “Bad Dog! Bad!”?

“We’re not going to war,” Mr. Kerry told reporters Monday after meeting with British Foreign Secretary William Hague in London. “We will be able to hold [Syrian President] Bashar al-Assad accountable without engaging troops on the ground or any other prolonged kind of effort, in a very limited, very targeted, very short-term effort that degrades his capacity to deliver chemical weapons without assuming responsibility for Syria’s civil war. That is exactly what we are talking about doing; an unbelievably small, limited kind of effort.”

So, why bother? Oh, I know, this is all about protecting that SCoaMF, Obama, from looking like a complete fool. Sorry, To Late!

Mr. Kerry acknowledged the difficult task he and President Barack Obama will have in getting Congress to approve a military strike on Syria. He recognized many people are opposed to the U.S. getting involved in another war because of the fallout from the invasion of in Iraq in 2003, which was based largely on incorrect intelligence about weapons of mass destruction. And he said Syria’s civil war will not be settled through military means.

Actually, it’s not so much that. (Although it is a part of it), as that no one sees any reason to attack Syria. Are they a threat to the United States? No. Are the holding Americans hostage? Nope. Have they threatened the United States? Only insofar as Obama and his stooges have been threatening Syria.

When Bush asked to go into Iraq, he went to the UN, Congress and the people of the United States and laid out his reasons for doing so. Saddam Hussein was a threat to the United States, had been firing on American Aircraft for years, and had initiated a plot to assassinate George Bush Sr. Now, a lot of the intelligence we had was wrong, and there is no doubt that the Bush administration utterly botched the occupation, but at the time, we thought it was the right thing. In Syria? Nope it isn’t the right thing.

Mr. Kerry also responded to comments President Assad made in an interview with CBS which is scheduled to be broadcast Monday. During the interview, President Assad denied he was behind the chemical weapons attack last month and rejected the evidence put forward by the Americans and other countries.

There is some serious questions being raised about the alleged attack. First, there are allegations that the attack was an accidental release by the “Rebels” and not by the Assad regimes troops ((Syrians In Ghouta Claim Saudi-Supplied Rebels Behind Chemical Attack)). Then there are reports that the attack was done by a local commander without authorization by Assad ((Report Claims Syrian Troops Used Chemical Weapons Without Assad’s Approval)).

Secretary of State Jacques Francois Kerry ((So called because of his penchant to support Europe ahead of the United States)) has been all over the place claiming that he has provided “Hard Evidence” that Assad ordered the attack. There has been just one tiny problem. He hasn’t told us just what that “Hard Evidence” is ((Direct link between Assad and gas attack elusive for U.S.)). Additionally, there is no way Assad is just going to ride out an attack on his forces if the United States fires on them.

Assad also threatened retaliation if there is a military strike.

One of the things that King Putt hasn’t talked about is just what Syria could do. First, there is defense. Assad’s forces have a good Air Defense system. If Obama launches cruise missiles, there is a chance the Syrians might see them coming in and be able to intercept them. If Obama launches airstrikes, then we could lose planes and pilots. Then there is the little problem of the SS-N-25 antiship missiles Assad has. As I mentioned in another post, these missiles could get through our ships defenses and do a hell of a lot of damage.

“That kind of threat is nothing different from the threat we face every single day,” Mr. Kerry said. “If we don’t stand up to it, we’ll face it more and they will think they can intimidate anybody. I don’t believe that we should shy from this moment. The risk of not acting is greater than the risk of acting. And everybody needs to stop and think about that hard.”

No, there is no risk to the United States by not acting. None at all. There is a far greater risk to us if we DO attack Syria. First, we do little to no damage to Assad, and basically show the world once again what a weak and useless fool Obama and his minions are. Second, Assad may retaliate in any number of ways. He could fire the antiship missiles he has and damage or sink some of our warships, or he might even smuggle some of his troops into the United States with orders to go after Obama. (For instance, a mortar attack on the White House, an ambush of the Presidential Motorcade with the Limo hit and destroyed by RPG’s, assassinations of members of Congress and/or their families, etc)

Finally, anything we do will help the Al Qaeda forces fighting Assad in Syria. Last I looked, Al Qaeda was our enemy. There is only one real reason we are doing this. It’s to protect Obama’s reputation, nothing more.

Kerry’s description of any potential attack as being “Unbelievably miniscule” is perfect. He is subconsciously describing Obama’s manhood. Now you know why Michelle Obama has a perpetual scowl on her face. I will not back a military strike on Syria to assuage Barack Obama’s ego.

No Blood for Ego!

In your guts...
