The Facebook Ban Hammer

Good day all. It’s time to put politics aside for a bit and talk about something really important. This is Facebook’s habit of banning people for saying something they think is offensive. There’s just one small problem with that. What they find offensive isn’t offensive at all.

Now what had brought this up you may be asking? It’s simple really. A good friend of mine was banned yesterday for 12 hours because he used the words “Chigger” and Faggot.” Now a chigger is a small biting insect ((Trombiculidae)). They are pests. The problem seems to be that the word “chigger” sounds an awful lot like a racial slur using the letter “N” instead of “CH.”

Then we have the word “Faggot.” Now it can refer to homosexuals in a derogatory manner, however the word also refers to a bundle of sticks used for firewood. There are variations on this of course, but the word’s original meaning has been around almost as long as the English Language.

Facebook has also banned people for using the word “Niger” as in the name of the country Niger in Africa. They have banned people using the word “Boobies” when referring to the sea bird ((Booby)). Facebook has also banned people for using phrases that the Progressive Liberal idiots don’t like, such as “Second Amendment.”

One person on Facebook has run afoul of the badly written Facebook filters is world renowned author Michael Z. Williamson. Mr. Williamson is a veteran of the United States Army and Air Force and has served in Iraq. He is very literate and is anything but a Progressive Liberal moonbat. In fact he has very little use for the non-thinking liberal moonbats that infest Facebook like a swarm of Chiggers.

This is one of the reasons Mr. Williamson has been banned 13 times to date. Since then, Mr. Williamson, along with his friends, followers and allies, have begun a campaign to get Facebook to wake up the fact that they are managed by idiots and morons. To protest all the people being banned for using the word “Chigger,” Mr. Williamson has created a Facebook page called Facebook Chigger Protest Day. The goal of Facebook Chigger Protest Day is to so swamp their system that the admins will actually have to take a look at what is being said.

When Facebook bans someone, they are basically put in a from of “Time out” for 12 hours. They may or may not be able to read what’s going on, or they might be prevented from logging in at all. The excuse Facebook uses when they ban someone is that a “Violation of Community Standards” has occurred. What are these standards? Whatever some idiot in the back office decides it to be, usually to the detriment of people who are religious, politically conservative, constitutionalist or libertarian in their views. Basically, if you offend some pantywaist liberal, the Facebook Ban Hammer will be used.

Mr. Williamson has collected a small, (Yet growing), list of words that has gotten him and other violently impacted with the Facebook Ban Hammer. They are:

Chiggers
Niggardly
Faggot (a bundle of sticks)…
Second Amendment
Niger (the country, complete to a Wikipedia link)
Boobies (a type of bird)
Grow up

Anyone who is literate will know that not one of these words or phrases is derogatory or racist. Telling someone to grow up is simple way of saying “Stop acting so childish and use your head for something other than toilet paper.” However, Fascistbook is run by a pack of illiterate Moonbats who think that George Orwell’s 1984was a training manual.

Many people have tried to abandon Fascistbook. Twit.tv’s Leo LaPorte made a lot of noise about closing his Facebook account, but was forced to return to it for business reasons. When Google came up with Google+, many people added that socialist network as a backup to Fascistbook. To my knowledge, no one has been banned from there for using the word “Chigger.” The problem with Google+ is that it was designed by programmers and is a little…stiff. Fascistbook is a lot “prettier” then Google+, but that is all that Fascistbook has going for it. As more and more people get banned for not being politically correct, overly sensitive moonbats, they will say “The hell with this” and move off Fascistbook all together. I know that Mr. Williamson has a Google+ account as do I. I almost never use it, other then posting updates from Anger Central, but I may spend more time on it.

One of the problems with Google+ is they won’t allow the use of alias. I had to create a fake persona in order to create the account. If the link above doesn’t work, try doing a search for Jonathon A.W. Smith. You will see my smiling visage in full rant.

One of the things I’ve heard is that younger people are abandoning Fascistbook in droves. If Fascistbook continues driving out people capable of actual thought, in fairly short order all they will have left is a left wing echo chamber. Fascistbook has enough problems with monetizing their system, and driving out the people who actually, you know, work for a living, isn’t going to help their already rocky bottom line.

Fascistbook needs to bring in someone who studies and teaches the Constitution of the United States and tell those blithering morons running their filters that they need to lighten up. While I know that Fascistbook is a global company, the people running it and the corporate HQ is based in the United States. They might like to know that the Constitution protects speech. There is nothing in there about a right not to be offended.
