Harry Reid: It’s not over

This was the statement made by Dingy Harry Reid regarding the standoff at the Bundy Ranch. The way Reid said it implies that the BLM might try again to go after the Bundy’s cattle or that the FBI might go in instead with their usual lack of subtly.

Well Harry, you may be right, but I hope you are wrong. As usual, you have completely missed what just happened out there. A line has been drawn in the sand. People have had enough. Of course, you want that land so Bundy must go. Your remarks have set off a very big discussion. For instance, here’s what the Washington Times is reporting:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid weighed in on the Nevada ranch standoff, warning that even though federal agents retreated over the weekend, “it’s not over.”

Mr. Reid’s remarks Monday appeared to be his first public comments since Bureau of Land Management agents touched off a confrontation with demonstrators last week by seizing cattle from the Bundy family ranch in a dispute over grazing fees. The agency, which says Cliven Bundy owes more than $1 million in unpaid fees, backed off Saturday and returned the cattle.

The BLM, which had been acting like jack-booted thugs over this really had no choice. They probably thought this wouldn’t amount to much, but it did and very quickly, they were outnumbered and outgunned. One incident and it would have quickly devolved into a full blown battle out there with the odds against the BLM. Reid, of course, has never been known to use any common sense.

We can’t have an American people that violate the law and just walk away from it,” Mr. Reid told Reno TV station KRNV. “So it’s not over.”

He isn’t alone in this thinking, but not in a way he would really like.

That feeling was shared, albeit from the opposite direction, by some of the hundreds of protesters from across the West who congregated at the Bundy cattle ranch near Mesquite, Nev. Many of them remained Monday at the property, despite pleas from federal and state officials to disband and return home.

I feel sorry for any federal agents that want to come in here and try to push us around or anything like that,” Jarad Miller said in an interview with KRNV-TV. “I really don’t want violence toward them, but if they’re going to come bring violence to us, if that’s the language they want to speak, we’ll learn it.”

I’ve been reading a number of blogs that have been talking about this. The ones that interest me the most are the ones run by lawyers, such as Powerline Blog or Patterico’s Pontifications. I’ve also chatted on various forums, or followed the threads where lawyers were talking about the Bundy Ranch situation. They all agree that Cliven Bundy doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on. This may be true, but this is where the lawyers, politicians, (In general), and the political class are missing the point. The American People have been pushed to far and now they are pushing back and they don’t care what the laws are that the Political class has passed, generally to the detriment of the people and the individuals.

When they say that “It is the Law of the Land” they fail to recall other laws of the land, such as little things like the Stamp Act ((The Stamp Act 1765)), the Intolerable Acts ((The Intolerable Acts)) and the Quartering Act. ((The Quartering Acts)) These too were the Law of the Land, and they finally pushed the people of the time to outright rebellion. We know this as the American Revolution.

One of the stories that came out was that the Reid family was involved in some sort of solar power generation plant and needed the Bundy’s land. However, it appears that those deals might not have affected the Bundy Ranch, but with Harry Reid’s history in matters like this? It set off the tin foil hat brigade because it’s just plausible enough to be true. (I’m not sure since I don’t have enough information to make an informed decision)

One of the excuses used to go after the Bundy Ranch was some tortoise that the government declared as endangered. The problem with this is the very same government was killing a bunch of these very same tortoises saying there were to many of them in the area. There is also the thing that the cattle and the turtles have been sharing that land for, oh about 100 YEARS with no problems.

Critical mass has been reached in the United States. The federal government is out of control. Each day we see one new revelation after another regarding bureaucracies and agencies acting outside the constitution and the “Rule of Law” that Harry Reid and the others all claim is so important. With each day, we come closer and closer to the start of “Bad Things.”

So yes, Harry Reid is unfortunately correct. Thanks to the Progressive Liberal Elitists and their Statist friends, things will get a lot worse before they get better. Perhaps the media might want to talk with a few of those BLM agents who were on the scene, off the record, and just get their personal opinions of what might have happened. My guess is they would say they were scared to death.

Of course, for the Obama Propaganda Corps would have to remember that they were actually, you know, reporters and not mouthpieces for the Democratic Party. They will simply write whatever Obama, Reid and the others in the Fascist Progressive Liberal Democrat Party tells them to write. Remember, King George the III also said it wasn’t over. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock and a lot of others agreed.

Bow down, Dingy Harry speaks – Dick.G – WordPress.com

Harry Reid said something interesting yesterday in response to the Bundy ranch drama. He stated that it is not over because “We can’t have an American people who break the law”. What is interesting is the all inclusive “An American people”. He isn’t referring to some people or individuals, but rather the people as a whole. This flies in the face of everything that America stands … It is with complete confidence and arrogance that Reid states this.” Why of course we are going to force the …

I don’t … In the end, this argument isn’t based on the law — nor even, oddly, on the legitimate idea that the law should be changed — but on the notion that if some rightwing sovereign-citizen nut dressed as Ronald Reagan feels bad about something, that proves America has gone all to hell.
