Good day all. It’s been a while since I wrote about Benghazi. The Obama Steno Pool has been working overtime to bury any news coming out of the investigative committees and certainly not looking into it themselves. Now, there has been a rather dramatic change.
First a bit of a refresher. The PLFD’s under Der Fubar started out by saying the attack on the consulate was the actions of a mob enraged over some youtube video that no one ever heard of. The Regime sent out Susan Rice to peddle that load of manure to the talk shows, and continued pushing it even after it became clear this was a terrorist attack by one of the Al Qaeda groups. The regime went so far as to throw the maker of the video in jail. (He had been convicted of a crime and was out on probation or something. They used that as their excuse to lock him up again)
The Republicans in Congress have been trying to get information from King Putt’s Court for over a year now and have been met with one stonewall after another. When it became clear that The SCoaMF and his minions couldn’t maintain the lie that it was a Youtube video that was responsible, they started blaming other people for the “Bad Talking points, even blaming CIA Directory David Petraeus for the information. The high point was Hillary Clinton Cankle’s testimony where she said “What does it matter now?”, and so it went, with small amounts of information being crowbar’d from the Obama Administration.
Until now that is. An email chain has been found that is being called “The Smoking Gun” with regards to who knew about the coverup and when it actually began. Here are a few detail from Fox News:
A Republican lawmaker is renewing his push for a select committee to investigate the Benghazi terror attack following the release of emails tying a White House aide to former U.N. ambassador Susan Rice’s controversial Sunday show statements about the attack. Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., sent a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, calling for a select committee to be established to conduct an investigation, interview Obama administration officials and hold public hearings on the probe.
“It is now abundantly clear that senior White House staff were directly involved in coordinating the messaging in response to the Benghazi attacks and were actively working to tie the reason to the infamous Internet video,” Wolf wrote Wednesday.
Setting up a select committee ((Select or special committee (United States Congress))) shows that the Benghazi scandal, (And I will smack anyone who calls I “Benghazigate” with a dead tuna), is moving beyond the realm of the committees who have been looking into the terrorist attack, and the coverup that followed.
New emails indicate a White House adviser helped prep Rice for her Sunday show appearances and pushed the explanation linking the attack to an anti-Islamic film — and now, the White House is facing credibility questions after having downplayed their role in Rice’s “talking points.”
I hate to tell King Putt’s Courtiers, but the credibility of anything coming out of the Imperial Palace White House has been suspect for a long time now. Most people who looked into the talking points Rice was spewing all over the airwaves were utterly bogus. And speaking of people with a credibility issue, we have Jay “D.C. Dave” Carney.
During a heated briefing with reporters Wednesday afternoon, Press Secretary Jay Carney repeatedly tried to claim that the so-called “prep call” with Rice — as it was described in one email — was not about Benghazi. The prep session, he said, was just about the demonstrations elsewhere in the Muslim world that week.
“It is not about Benghazi — it is about the protests around the Muslim world,” Carney claimed.
And according to your mentor, Baghdad Bob, there are no American troops anywhere near Baghdad.
The White House has said all along that Rice relied on the best available intelligence, from the intelligence community, when she discussed the Benghazi attack.
Pull the other Finger D.C. Dave, it has a bell on it.
But the documents obtained and released by conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, included a Sept. 14, 2012, email from White House aide Ben Rhodes, an assistant to the president and deputy national security adviser for strategic communications. The Rhodes email, with the subject line: “RE: PREP Call with Susan: Saturday at 4:00 pm ET,” was sent to a dozen members of the administration’s inner circle, including key members of the White House communications team such as Carney.
Heh. I think Carney is looking at a subpena from the Select Committee, or if one isn’t formed, from Daryl Issa in the next few weeks. Carney is up to his lying eyeballs in this mess. I would love to see how he would handle being put under oath. I can just imagine that dirt bag taking the 5th ((The Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution)) and refusing to testify because it might incriminate him. Getting back to the Emails in question:
In the email, Rhodes specifically draws attention to the anti-Islam Internet video, without distinguishing whether the Benghazi attack was different from protests elsewhere. The email lists the following two goals, among others:
“To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy.”
“To reinforce the President and Administration’s strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges.”
Since the news came out that these emails had been released, the White House has been in full denial and damage control mode. This usually entails changing the subject, lies, deceit and outright threats towards anyone who questions Der Fubar. In the changing the subject department, we have Nancy Pelosi. According to CBS DC:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said the emails were a distraction from real issues.
“Diversion, subterfuge, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi,” Pelosi said, according to CBS News. “Why aren’t we talking about something else?”
You mean things like Obamacare, which is running off the rails at a rapid clip? Or did you mean the economy, which is making the Great Depression ((The Great Depression)) look like a mild recession? I know! Lets talk about your grasp on reality, or the lack there of! Then we have Former White House National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor who said, according to the Business Insider:
Former White House National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor went on Fox News on Thursday, and after host Bret Baier grilled him over the issue of the talking points used after the attack, he finally responded with “Dude, this was like two years ago.”
Throughout the exchange, Vietor, who seemed annoyed at the line of questioning, wasn’t really able to answer Baier on various questions, telling him he “believes so” or that he didn’t remember.
“You don’t remember?” Baier asked, to which Vietor responded, “Dude, this was like two years ago. We’re still talking about the most mundane process … we’re talking about the process of editing talking points. That’s what bureaucrats do all day long.”
That ranks down there with Cankles Clinton’s remarks to congress, where she said “What does it matter now?” Well I have bad news for Cankles, D.C. Dave, Il Douche and all the others. Benghazi isn’t going away, it’s growing. Now we have a retired general who was on the scene saying that “should have tried” to save the consulate people. According to Fox News:
A retired general who was in the U.S. military’s operation center during the 2012 attack on the diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya, said Thursday that Washington should have done more to respond during the battle.
Retired Brig. Gen. Robert Lovell told the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform that U.S. forces “should have tried” to get to the embassy in time to help save the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans who were killed by militants in twin attacks the night of Sept. 11, 2012. He says the State Department should have made stronger requests for action. The State Department didn’t immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
There was a rumor at the time that an admiral was told to stand down and was going to disobey orders and do what he could. Instead he was relieved of his command. The reports from the military, unofficially, was they were ripping mad that they weren’t sent in to try and rescue the consulate staffers. They knew within an hour that this was a full out attack and not some sort of protest. It didn’t matter. The SCoaMF was to busy getting ready for his fundraiser the next day to actually attend to business. There are reports that he wasn’t even in the situation room.
This afternoon, news came out that John “Crybaby” Boehner is going to ask the full House for authorization to form a special Select Committee to investigate the Benghazi debacle. Did you know that it was 41 years ago that the Watergate committee began looking into the break and coverup that eventually led to the resignation of Richard Nixon just before he would have been formally impeached? Did you also know that a certain former Secretary of State was also working for that committee, before she got her fat cankly ass fired for ethics problems? Don’t you just love the schadenfreude over Cankles Rodham Clinton getting hauled in front of another Select Committee that could lead to the removal of another sitting president?
I do.
