Obama’s destruction of the Energy sector

Good day all. Along with all the other news that came out over the weekend, news was released that the EPA is planning on destroying the energy sector of the United States on orders of King Putt.

The proposed regulations will force a 30 percent cut in carbon emissions, (Primarily CO2, better known as Plant Food), and that if these go into effect, all fossil fuel plants will have to comply by 2030. Here are the details from Fox News:

The Obama administration took aim at the coal industry on Monday by mandating a 30 percent cut in carbon emissions at fossil fuel-burning power plants by 2030 — despite claims the regulation will cost nearly a quarter-million jobs a year and force plants across the country to close. The controversial regulation is one of the most sweeping efforts to tackle global warming by this or any other administration.

Al-Gore Fire Breathing Dragon

Global Warming. Yes, once again the State Mandated Religion is coming to the fore and you WILL convert or else. Sounds like Islam, doesn’t it? As we have seen in the past, and I have written about, the whole Global Warming business is fraudulent. This is one reason you see the Warmists using the term “Climate Change” instead of “Global Warming.” There is no warming and it looks like we might be in a cooling period, as the 5 FEET of snow in my front yard last winter that I had to shovel indicates.

The 645-page plan, expected to be final next year, is a centerpiece of President Obama’s climate change agenda, and a step that the administration hopes will get other countries to act when negotiations on a new international treaty resume next year.

That sounds like a repeat of the Economic destruction treaty, better known as the “Kyoto Protocols” to me. That treaty’s requirements were so onerous, that the Senate wouldn’t even consider it. But, as I mentioned, this is a religion and facts have no place in it.

“We have a moral obligation to act,” EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy said, in announcing the plan Monday morning.

No, you don’t. In fact, as far as I’m concerned, you need to be removed from your position and the EPA shut down. You have demonstrated a total and complete contempt for the rule of law.

The draft regulation sidesteps Congress, where Obama’s Democratic allies have failed to pass a so-called “cap-and-trade” plan to limit such emissions.

The reason Cap and Trade failed is simple. It was a load of crap designed to reward people like Al Gore. It was so bad, that Australia, which did implement a Cap and Trade system, recently closed it down as a complete failure and a massive waste of money and resources ((Australia Turns Back the Clock on Historic Carbon Tax, Cap-and-Trade)). The damage it would have done to the United States would have made the Great Depression look like a mild recession.

Under the plan, carbon emissions would be reduced 30 percent by 2030, compared with 2005 levels. The proposal sets off a complex regulatory process in which the 50 states will each determine how to meet customized targets set by the EPA. States could have until 2017 to submit a plan to cut power plant pollution, and 2018 if they join with other states to tackle the problem, according to the EPA’s proposal.

And if I were the governors of the states affected by this totalitarian power grab, I would tell the EPA to pound sand. If necessary, and I were the governor of one of these states, I would seek the indictment of the head of the EPA along with every single EPA employee in my state and charge them with sabotage and conspiracy. (Ok I’m no lawyer, but the devastation this will cause is criminal in my mind)

If a state refuses to create a plan, the EPA can make its own.

You vill Comply! Seig Heil! My response, if I were in charge would be “Try and enforce it!”

The Obama administration claimed the changes would produce jobs, cut electricity bills and save thousands of lives thanks to cleaner air. But critics disputed the estimates.

“Throughout his presidency, Barack Obama has adopted a my way or the highway approach and that explains why he’s shoving these EPA regulations down our throat,” Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement. “The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has found that each year this regulation will kill 224,000 jobs and force energy rates to skyrocket, so it’s no wonder President Obama is circumventing Congress to implement his latest job-killing regulation.”

What do expect from Der Fubar? He has repeatedly shown his utter contempt for the Constitution and the law, even those he’s signed.

On Saturday, Obama tried to bolster public support for the new rule by arguing that carbon-dioxide emissions are a national health crisis — beyond hurting the economy and causing global warming.

We don’t have to choose between the health of our economy and the health of our children,” Obama said in his weekly address. “As president and as a parent, I refuse to condemn our children to a planet that’s beyond fixing.”

Oh great. He’s pulled out the standard PLFD chestnut, “It’s for the Children!” Anything that destroys freedom, liberty and the economy is always “For the Children.” The fact is, we have been cleaning up coal plants for decades. The major impediment to cleaner power plants is, the EPA. Normally, power plant owners, like everyone else, prefer to do upgrades as time, technology and money permit. They see what needs to be fixed and budget for it. Or they would if they were allowed to. What really happens is if they want to do some maintenance and upgrades, they have to do everything mandated by the EPA at once. This isn’t cost effective, so the plants don’t get the upgrades they need.

There is another issue as well. The United States gets 40 percent of it’s power from coal. These new rules will force many, if not most of them to just shut down. Since there are no replacements in the works, thanks to the EPA, there will be blackouts. Obama’s EPA has even ticked off a number of Democrats who fear for their jobs.

Many of the Democrats who are raising concerns represent coal-producing states and face tough 2014 reelection bids. Among them is West Virginia Democratic Rep. Nick Rahall, whose state gets 96 percent of its power from coal. Rahall said Thursday that he didn’t have specific details about the rule but “from everything we know we can be sure of this: It will be bad for jobs.”

Bad for jobs moron? How about bad for actual living? What these rules will do is put West Virginia back into the 19th century. Of course, since coal is a major job creator in that state, only having tfour percent of the power generation use used to have wont’ be a problem. People will have abandoned the state looking for work and a place with electricity. Of course Il Douche is saying he’s being forced to do this.

Obama is being forced to use the 1970s-era old Clean Air Act, after failing during his first term to get Congress to pass a law. The law has long been used to regulate pollutants like soot, mercury and lead but has only recently been applied to greenhouse gases.

“There are no national limits to the amount of carbon pollution that existing plants can pump into the air we breathe. None,” Obama said Saturday in his weekly radio and Internet address. “We limit the amount of toxic chemicals like mercury, sulfur, and arsenic that power plants put in our air and water. But they can dump unlimited amounts of carbon pollution into the air. It’s not smart, it’s not safe, and it doesn’t make sense.”

There is a reason carbon dioxide isn’t in the law. It isn’t a pollutant, it is a natural part of the biosphere. Without CO2, plants die. With plants, we die. The problem with the Church of Global Warming, besides their fanaticism, is their lack of a grasp on science…or reality for that matter. They believe that unless we, for all intents and purposes, end human life on Earth, the planet will have a runaway greenhouse effect and turn into another Venus. They don’t just fail to understand, but refuse to understand that a runaway greenhouse turning the Earth into Venus is pretty much impossible.

climatologyreligion

To begin with, Venus is a lot closer to the sun than the Earth. That does have an effect on things. Then Venus doesn’t rotate as fast on it’s axis as the Earth and doesn’t have a really big, (or any) moon. All these things can effect the temperature. And then there is the geological record. The earth was a lot hotter millions of years ago. It’s one of the reasons the dinosaurs flourished. CO2 levels were far higher then they were back in the times of the Dinosaurs. Real scientists, rather then the frauds like Michael Mann believe that CO2 levels might actually be a bit to low. Of course those scientists are considered heretics by the Church of Global Warming and they are burned at the stake using a renewable, carbon neutral source of fire.

don't confuse

Barack Obama and his minions at the EPA are doing all this for one reason only. To institute totalitarian control and force Americans into Socialism against our will. I am calling on Congress and the Governors to stop the EPA by any means necessary. In congress, if it means shutting down the department the EPA, (Which long ago outlived its usefulness), then defund and close it. If it means the states have to refuse their orders, and even refuse to obey the courts, then so be it. If needed, the governors, with the agreement of the legislatures, should deploy national guard troops around the power stations and send in state police and county sheriffs to physically close the local EPA offices, Otherwise, the United States will collapse and become a third world nation.
