Good day all, this is the Angry Systems Administrator. A couple of weeks ago I upgraded WordPress and a number of plugins stopped working. After a few weeks of digging through things trying to determine the cause, it looks like I’ve found it.
We have a simple ratings plugin that almost no one uses. to activate it, who ever is writing a blog post simply adds a short code at the end of the post. That is where the problem lies. That shortcode is corrupting all the other plugins, such as the one for footnotes, the one that connects to other sites so you can share our “Fearless Leaders” thoughts, (Such as they are), as well as a few other backend items.
The last few postings have not included that shortcode, (And also the ratings applet), and now the others are working. Considering how little use that plugin gets, I may just disable it. Hopefully, the developers will determine what the problem is and correct it.
Thank you for your patience.
~The Angry Systems Administrator~
