Democrat’s remorse?

Good day all. A week or so ago, I wrote about Senator Charles “Upchuck” Schumer’s (D-NY), sudden change of heart regarding Obamacare. Of course, Schumer promptly doubled down on stupid by saying the PLFD’s need to convince people that more government control of America is what’s needed.

However, once Upchuck made the remarks on Obamacare being a mistake, most of the other PLFD’s jumped on the bandwagon. Perhaps I should say, MOST of the surviving Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrats. After two massive blowouts, the Democrats are almost an endangered species. In any case, more and more of them are turning on Obamacare. Here are the details from Fox News:

A strange thing has happened on Capitol Hill. Senior Democrats who were vital in writing and promoting ObamaCare appear to be having a change of heart.

Democrats have hearts? Who knew? Must be a type or something.

First, there was Sen. Chuck Schumer, the upper chamber’s No. 3 Democrat, who voiced regret about his party’s misplaced priorities during President Obama’s first two years in power, when they possessed a filibuster-proof majority.

“Unfortunately, Democrats blew the opportunity the American people gave them,” Schumer told an audience gathered at the National Press Club last week. “We took their mandate and put all of our focus on the wrong problem — health care reform.”

First, the Democrats never really had a mandate. The electorate were just plain fed up with the “Party of Stupid’s” actions since George W. Bush became president. They really had trouble telling the difference between the Republicans and the Democrats when it came down to the way Government was intruding on people.

The second issue was the fact that the majority of people, while understanding that the healthcare system had some pretty serious issues, took one look at Obamacare and told their elected leaders that they didn’t want it. They went so far as to vote in a Republican from Massachusetts to replace Dead Ted Kennedy to put a stop to Obamacare.

The PLFD’s, as we have seen, flat out ignored the voters, considering them to be to stupid to run their own lives or make their own decisions. The results speak for themselves. Democrats have been blown out of office at all levels of government, from the local dogcatcher up to senior members of Congress. Of course, just because they have “Legislator’s Remorse” doesn’t mean they actually got the message.

Schumer isn’t the only Democrat with buyer’s — or lawmaker’s — remorse. In an interview published Wednesday, retiring Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa told The Hill newspaper that ObamaCare didn’t go far enough, arguing that the party should have pushed harder for a government-run, single-payer system while it had a filibuster-proof majority — or dropped it altogether.

“We had the power to do it in a way that would have simplified healthcare, made it more efficient and made it less costly and we didn’t do it,” Harkin said, according to the Hill. “So I look back and say we should have either done it the correct way or not done anything at all.”

holes

There is a reason Harkin decided to retire. His political health is not what it used to be, and there was a better then even chance that if he ran for reelection, he would have been crushed. Remarks such as the above, saying that the United States should have instituted a full socialist healthcare system, shows just how out of touch he is. The American People gave the keys to the kingdom, so to speak, to the Democrats and they went full Fascist. Not only did they wreck the healthcare system, they blow trillions of dollars on any number of “Green Energy” scams as well as bailing out all their cronies who had basically ruined their businesses and screwed up the economy.

The remarks are striking, coming from some of Capitol Hill’s most senior and influential Democrats, but they come after the party has suffered two midterm election drubbings — the most recent of which handed control of the Senate to Republicans — and the emergence of videos where ObamaCare co-architect Jonathan Gruber is heard claiming the law’s authors took advantage of Americans’ “stupidity.”

Jonathan Gruber’s remarks, along with his obvious contempt for anyone who didn’t agree with him, has caused the Obama administration and all the Democrats who worked with him to disavow all knowledge of his actions or even his existence. I hate to be the one to break it to you Liberals, this isn’t Mission: Impossible and you don’t get to disavow someone who made the mistake of public ally telling the truth. Needless to say, the GOP is having a ball with the Democrat melt down.

Republican leaders were only too happy to pounce on Schumer’s remarks.

“It was fairly remarkable to have the number-three Democrat in the Senate say last week that Obamacare was a mistake,” Sen. John Thune, chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, told reporters Tuesday. “That is a really, really remarkable statement if you think about it.”

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy likewise declared: “I agree with Chuck Schumer.”

Now that one is going to leave marks. Having someone in the opposition leadership agreeing with the number three Democrat in the Senate? Especially over a law that was passed with no Republican votes at all?

Now Upchuck Schumer is not so much walking back his remarks as trying to pretend they really don’t matter. Sort of like Jonathon Gruber’s remarks.

Asked about the fact Republicans are using his comments against him at a Tuesday media availability, Schumer didn’t walk them back but pointed out that his entire speech was some 20 pages long. That’s “all I’m going to say on that issue,” he said.

nothing to see here

Nice try there Sparky, but it isn’t working. Even your minions in the Obama Propaganda Corp are starting to notice. The modern Democrats, when given what amounted to absolute power, were corrupted absolutely. Now Upchuck and all the other morons on the left are coming to the realization that Americans aren’t interested in being slaves to the Progressive Liberal Elite’s and have demonstrated their unhappiness by removing the source of their pain from office. I would sympathize with Upchuck, but I’m fresh out of sympathy. I do have a violin player though.

The 2016 elections for President are now coming into view. The Republicans will have a large number of seats to defend as well as selecting the Republican nominee, and they can either prove that the American people were right to put them in office, or they will be voted out as well, and we might actually see a new political party rise up. Perhaps two of them if The Democrats keep losing. (We can only hope)
