Obama’s “Shovel Ready” jobs really are of full of manure

Good day all, Do you remember back when Obama first took office? One of the first things the Democrats did was push through a $1 trillion dollar “Stimulus” bill that stimulated only the national debt.

Everyone knew that the whole thing was nothing more then a pile of horse manure, but who knew that this literally was full of horse manure and not just editorial license? In an article on Fox News, it seems we are still shoveling horse manure.

Almost six years after the passage of the stimulus package, taxpayer dollars have finally found their way into a shovel ready project: $60,000 to haul horse manure. Sold as an opportunity to bring America into the “21st century,” the Recovery and Reinvestment Act, commonly known as the stimulus, is now being used to remove wild horse manure off of public lands.

Words fail me.

According to a contract awarded last week, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will pay $58,650 to load, haul, and dispose manure from a corral in Burns, Oregon. The facility holds wild horses and burros found on the Oregon range where they await adoption.

$60K to shovel horse shit? How much of this stuff have they got sitting there anyway? And if that wasn’t bad enough, here are a few details on how the BLM wants this stuff shoveled up and hauled away.

“Manure shall be wind-rowed, piled if necessary, loaded, and hauled to a site for a beneficial use,” the BLM said in their solicitation outlining the project. “If there is no beneficial use for the manure, then it shall be legally disposed of in a landfill or by another approved disposal practice.” “Stockpiling of the manure shall not be permitted,” they added.

Gee, I guess I won’t be applying for that job. I like stockpiling horse manure. I’m trying to corner the market.

The contract is good through September 2015, with four option years; meaning stimulus funds could be spent on hauling horse manure until 2019. The government anticipated that laborers would be paid $16.86 an hour plus fringe benefits for the job.

And the idiots in Washington can’t seem to understand why people hate the government? This is one reason right there. You know, I have an idea. How about putting convicted criminals to work shoveling up all that crap? It won’t cost anything like $17/hour and frankly, I think it would do a few gangbangers good to “Get up and personal” with one of natures more aromatic fertilizers.
