Brian Williams suspended without pay

Good day all. It looks like my post on Brian Williams yesterday was rather prophetic. It was announced last night that he is being suspended without pay for 6 months. He will be replaced by Lester Holt. Jay Carney could not be reached for comment.

The way NBC has worded the press release announcing Williams “Sabbatical” leaves open the possibility that his suspension will become permanent. Apparently, there is a long list of Williams “Embellishing the truth” and the shoes are dropping all over the place. There is a bit of a difference between Williams and the other noted liar, Dan Rather. Williams lies were meant to make himself look better. Rather was trying to sink a president with forged documents. In both cases, their credibility was destroyed.

I suspect Williams will be formally terminated in the next few months, once they figure out how they can dump him without getting sued. I’m sure Williams will land on his feet. No doubt he will be writing books on what he saw at the Battle of Waterloo, Washington’s crossing of the Delaware and his first hand account of the Battle of Midway.
