Good day all. News has come out that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will be charged by the United States Army with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. These charges, while deserved, are a bit of a surprise, considering that King Putt wanted them buried.
For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, Bowe Bergdahl was in Afghanistan when he deserted his post. When his unit went out to find him, several were killed or wounded. It later came out that Bergdahl hadn’t been captured, but had intentionally walked away and let the Taliban catch him.
The United States got him back when that Stuttering Cluster F**k of a Miserable Failure, Barack Obama, traded five Taliban leaders for this walking turd. Here are some details on what’s going on from USA Today:
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was held five years after being captured by the Taliban when he left his remote post in Afghanistan, was charged Wednesday by the Army with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. The misbehavior charge carries a potential life sentence, the Army said in a statement, but legal analysts said it was likely Bergdahl would reach an agreement that would result in a light punishment.
Now I’ve been informed by people with both a military and legal background that the “Misbehavior” charge is actually a capitol offense and could result in the death penalty. As to the possibility of a plea bargain, rumor has it that an offer was made and was rejected by Bergdahl. If this is the case, the offer probably consisted of spending at least 25 years in prison if not the rest of his life.
As I mentioned earlier, a number of people, myself included, are surprised that Bergdahl is being charged at all, never mind with something that could get him executed. Even now, Der Fubar’s minions are still pushing the idea that releasing outright threats to the United States for this piece of garbage was a good deal. Here are a few more details from Fox News:
The incoming White House communications director defended the decision to trade Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban leaders last year, even as newly announced desertion charges for Bergdahl renewed Republican criticism of the prisoner swap.
“Was it worth it? Absolutely,” Jen Psaki told Megyn Kelly on Fox News’ “The Kelly File.” “We have a commitment to our men and women serving in the military, defending our national security every day, that we’re going to do everything to bring them home if we can, and that’s what we did in this case.”
Psaki has long proven that she has the IQ of a pile of rocks and the ethics of a politician. If she had a single ethical bone in her body, she wold have handed in her notice and walked away from the Regime. That she hasn’t tells me she prefers the trappings of power and privilege over honesty and integrity. That or she’s dumber then a box of rocks.
Pretty much anyone who was familiar with what happened with Bergdahl and the events surrounding his release, have been critical of Obama’s decision to cave in to the Taliban and trade five terrorist leaders for a deserter. The investigation recommending an Article 32 hearing is vindication that they were right and Obama, as usual, was dead wrong.
Lawmakers who long were critical of the 2014 prisoner swap, meanwhile, pointed to the latest development in reviving those concerns. “Today’s announcement is the exclamation point on the bad deal the Obama administration cut to free five terrorist killers in its rush to empty the prison at Guantanamo Bay,” House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce, R-Calif., said in a statement.
With the newly announced charges, Bergdahl could also face a dishonorable discharge, reduction in rank and forfeiture of all his pay if convicted. He is not in pretrial confinement at Fort Sam Houston, a spokesman for U.S. Army Forces Command said.
This isn’t correct. If Bergdahl is convicted, he will be dishonorably discharged, he will forfeit all pay and allowances and he will spend some serious time in a military prison. Theoretically, they could also execute him. Of course, Bergdahl isn’t the only one who is in trouble over this. Think back to what happened when the trade was made.
The announcement of the charges marks a sharp turnaround for the administration’s narrative of Bergdahl’s service and release. After the swap last year, National Security Adviser Susan Rice said Bergdahl served with “honor and distinction.”
Susan Rice has absolutely no credibility at all about anything. She is a bald faced liar, so of course, she’s always being rewarded by Il Douche. Because of this swap. Americans are now at far higher risk then ever before.
But as Bergdahl faced criticism from fellow service members for his actions, the administration faced heated complaints from Congress over the Taliban trade itself. “This fundamental shift in U.S. policy signals to terrorists around the world a greater incentive to take U.S. hostages,” said former Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., then the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
There is also some serious questions about the legality of this “deal.”
The trade was branded as illegal by lawmakers, who said they weren’t advised beforehand, It was also blasted by critics who said it violated America’s longstanding tradition of not negotiating with terrorists. There were also concerns – which would prove well-founded – that the Taliban members would return to the fight against the West.
This is what you get when you put a Marxist, anti-American community organizer with a serious narcissistic streak into the Oval Office. Barack Obama is not competent and so hates the United States that he is diving into bed with our sworn enemies. By rights, he should be impeached and removed from office. But that requires an honest congress, which no longer exists.
The evidence against Bergdahl, at least that in the public record, is pretty bad. If Bergdahl is tried and convicted, I have literally no doubt that King Putt will pardon him. He can’t have a convicted deserter he helped free in a deal that is detrimental to the security of the United States rotting in prison. He’ll just add Bergdahl to the list of pardons he’ll be signing his last day in office.
