Jeb Bush and Chris Christie support police state

Good day all. As I wrote previously, the Patriot Act’s renewal has run aground on the rocks of the Constitution. We have seen the RINO and Progressive contingents demanding that it be renewed forthwith. Two people who have demanded the Patriot act be renewed with no modifications are Chris Christie and Jeb Bush.

dead rino

Both of these two are currently running for President, (Even if Christie hasn’t formally announced), and both have been on the wrong side of pretty much everything since 2010. Recently, Jeb Bush, who hasn’t seen a border he will secure or an illegal alien he won’t welcome, announced that there wasn’t a shred of evidence that the NSA was violating the civil rights of Americans.

double-facepalm

Chris Christie went further and denounced anyone who was concerned about the activities of the NSA and the plethora of federal law enforcement agencies.

First, we will look at that moron Bush. According to the Business Insider:

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) doesn’t agree with critics of the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs. “There’s not a shred of evidence that anybody’s civil liberties have been violated by it. Not a shred,” Bush said Thursday in New Hampshire, in comments after a breakfast organized by the Concord Chamber of Commerce, according to the Huffington Post.

nothing to see here

Except that there is. Thanks to Edward Snowden, we have discovered that the NSA, the FBI and other agencies have been slurping up email, meta data, and geolocation information from people’s mobile devices. About the only thing they haven’t done, as far as I know, is actually read messages people have been sending to each other. However, with the meta data information, they really don’t need to. Then we have that fat RINO, Christie. According to the Washington Times:

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called Monday for a full extension of the Patriot Act and denounced “exaggerated and ridiculous” fears he said were being drummed up by “civil liberties extremists,” saying he found the law to be an indispensable national security tool when he was a federal prosecutor.

ABJECTSTUPIDITY

Except that not one single terrorist has been caught or prosecuted using the information gathered by the NSA. There have been several criminal prosecutions that have absolutely nothing to do with terrorism. If I recall correctly, because of the claims of “National Security” the defendants weren’t able to challenge how the information used against them was acquired. If they had been able to get that information, the “evidence” would have been thrown out of court and the defendants acquitted. Then Christie doubled down on stupid with this remark:

Absolutely no one has one real example of our intelligence services misusing this program for political or other nefarious purposes,” he said. “The vast majority of Americans are not worried about the government listening in on them, because it hasn’t happened. They are worried about what happens if we don’t catch the bad people who want to harm our country.”

head_up_ass

They want you to think that there’s a government agent listening in every time you pick up the phone or Skype with your grandkids. They want you to think our intelligence community are the bad guys, straight out of ‘The Bourne Identity’ or some other Hollywood thriller. And they want you to think that if we weakened our capabilities, the rest of the world would somehow love us more,” he said. “Let’s be clear: All these fears are exaggerated and ridiculous.”

No actually, they aren’t! The NSA has been slurping up every single byte of data they can and storing it. If something attracts their attention, they go back into their archives and start digging through every single scrap of data they have. They also start looking at anyone you might have called, emailed, texted or taken a picture of.

Mr. Christie said he has direct experience using the Patriot Act as a tool in the fight against terrorism when he served as U.S. attorney in New Jersey after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Really? Please name some terrorist attacks that were stopped by this program or terrorists that were prosecuted Governor Fatboy. Somehow, I don’t think you will be able to. I wouldn’t be at all surprised though, if you used some of this data, illegally gathered to prosecute people for regular criminal activities. I wonder how many are now talking to their lawyers about appealing their convictions on the grounds of using evidence gathered without a warrant? The courts have already ruled that the practice is illegal, as Senator Paul has commented on.

The court has ruled that the bulk collection of all of our phone records all of the time is illegal. So really, it ought to stop,” Mr. Paul told NBC’s “Meet the Press” program this weekend.

I agree. It should stop. This is nothing less then domestic spying rivaling what the East Germans were doing prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall. The very fact that these two, Jeb Bush and Chris Christie want this program, which has failed in it’s primary goal, to continue tells me all I need to know. Neither one of them is qualified to be President of the United States. They have already violated their current oaths of office. I wouldn’t trust these two to be mall cops, never mind holding the most powerful office in America.
