Seen on a post on Facebook: “Jeb Bush entered into the race for the Republican nomination with $100 million dollars. The race was his to lose and he has spent most of that $100 million doing just that.”
Good day all. I’ve written about Jeb! Bush’s well financed plunge in the polls previously. Now there is a story on just what this loser spent all his money on. Besides the 5 tons of junk mail he’s sent to me personally, it looks like Bush and his “advisers” like to live high on the hog.
While the majority of the money has gone to flyers, mailings and those annoying TV commercials we’ve all been zipping through, it also seems that Bush likes to spend his time campaigning like the Establishment RINO that he is. Here’s what he’s been spending his money on from Reuters via Yahoo News:
There were stays at boutique hotels featuring rooftop pools, private soirees at members-only, jacket-and-tie clubs and fundraisers at the Four Seasons, the St. Regis and the Mandarin Oriental. In the world of Jeb Bush, the campaign for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination has at times been a whirl of private planes and high-end affairs, according to the federal filings of Bush’s campaign and his Super PAC, Right to Rise, which can raise unlimited funds for Bush as long as it does not coordinate directly with him.
You know, this isn’t the way to win over the average voter. It shows them that they may be correct that Juan! Bush is totally out of touch with pretty much everyone.
It is not unusual for U.S. presidential candidates to fly private or even sometimes stay in luxury hotels.
Nope, it isn’t. Trump has no problem flying around in a private jet. Of course, he’s using his own money, and not the money from campaign donations to do this. That does make a difference to people.
But some disgruntled donors say they are unhappy with Bush’s large outlays, which also include big spending on staff and tens of millions of dollars in ad buys. Eleven of 16 major donors contacted by Reuters questioned whether it was money well spent, especially given how the one-time frontrunner has stumbled badly in the polls and is now facing questions about whether he should withdraw from the race.
Now why would they be unhappy? Could it be due to Bush cratering in the polls? When Bush announced, he was at about 15 percent. Since then, he’s spent millions and managed to drop into single digits. Low single digits in some cases. Now consider how both Ted Cruz and Donald Trump have fared.
In contrast to Bush, Senator Ted Cruz, who is running second in national polls of Republican voters, favors cheaper accommodation options like Holiday Inn and often flies on budget carriers, campaign finance filings through the third quarter show.
This has some people thinking about how the two would actually govern if elected. Cruz spending as little as possible of other people’s money, and Bush just throwing money around like it grows on trees. Hmm, That makes me wonder if Bush isn’t a Democrat. He loves spending other people’s money. Of course, the Bush campaign has it’s excuses.
Several members of the Bush camp vigorously rejected the donor critiques. Bush spokeswoman Kristy Campbell said, “We are running a national campaign that is competing everywhere and we have made investments that have allowed us to do what serious campaigns must do to be competitive in the primary and general elections.”
Excuses, excuses. I can’t think of anywhere Bush is competitive, except at the bottom of the polls. I think he’s doing a bit better than Huckabee, Christie and Santorum, but not by much.
“There is no return on investment on the Bush ad buys, zero,” said one high-dollar donor who asked not to be named, pointing to how the ads have done little, at least so far, to lift Bush in the polls or dent his opponents.
On Sunday, donors will learn just how much Bush has spent from his $100 million-plus war chest. That’s when Republican and Democratic candidates and their Super PACs release their latest campaign finance reports. What is known so far is that Bush and Right to Rise spent at least $82 million, both in operating expenditures through the third quarter of 2015 and on ad spending through this month.
$82 Million dollars? Those knotheads have burned through $82 million dollars in the last few months?
The former Florida governor’s spending pattern illustrates the limits of campaign donations: Even in an era when candidates can receive unlimited sums from wealthy donors, money doesn’t guarantee success.
No kidding. Do you remember the screams of outrage at the Citizens United case? The one that let corporations throw huge amounts of money into political campaigns? The Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrats were so enraged by it that they wanted to rewrite the 1st Amendment. I find it interesting how all that money has bought Juan! Bush the nomination. Oh wait! His campaign is cratering, isn’t it?
“They are burning money,” said a second major donor, who, like all the other high-dollar donors interviewed, asked not be named for fear of displeasing the Bush family.
I think this video illustrates just what is going through the donors minds right about now. Take a guess who the donors are and who represent the Bush campaign.
“Look, this is not the election cycle to be spending like a silver-spoon Establishment candidate,” said a third donor. “It just doesn’t look right,” the donor said, referring to the way income inequality has emerged as a key theme in the 2016 election.
Just change the name from George to Jeb and Ann Richards comment still works.
The Bush campaign and his Super PAC also spent more than $400,000 on renting facilities and catering at posh venues, including the Union League Club and the upscale beachfront 1 Hotel South Beach in Miami, where the Super PAC spent $60,000 last year. Rubio and Cruz spent roughly $265,000 and $185,000 respectively.
What the heck were they ordering? The finest cuts of meat prepared by the best chef’s in the world? And as for those venues, They haven’t been turning people away as has been happening at Trump events.
Bush is certainly not the only candidate to spend big on the trail. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, for instance, ran an expensive campaign and burned through nearly $10 million before quitting after three months.
And what do these two campaigns have in common? Other than spending millions and gaining…nothing?
Nevertheless the Bush camp has spent more on staff and consultants than any of the leading candidates. Starting roughly in the spring, Bush paid out about $8 million. Cruz spent just $2 million; Rubio, just under $2 million; and Trump, $1.7 million.
DING! DING! DING! DING! We have a winner! All those “Consultants” like Karl Rove, have been running the Bush campaign right into the dumpster. Those clowns have been wasting huge amounts of money on campaign tactics that have turned voters right off.
These “Beltway bandits” are as out of touch with what’s going on in “Flyover Country” as your average hack from the Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrats. They talk to each other over champagne and caviar in very expensive offices on K street and homes in Georgetown. Their primary goal is not to win elections, but to separate candidates from as much money as they can.
Bush’s prospects were far brighter last summer.
Yeah, right up until he said things like “Illegal immigration is an act of love.” and how Common Core is just what the education system in this country needs.” That was the point that his campaign started nosediving into the crapper.
Jeb Bush is an out of touch political hack. The consultants he and all the other GOP(e) candidates have been hiring have shown themselves to be so utterly clueless and incompetent that it borders on outright fraud. I don’t know who is going to with the 2016 primaries on the Republican side, but it’s a safe bet that it won’t be Jeb Bush.
