Harry Reid calls for Alan Grayson to quit Senate race

Good day all. Last week, Harry Reid demanded that Alan Grayson, (Crook-FL), drop out of the race to replace Marco Rubot, who is not running for reelection to his Senate seat.

Stupid Criminal

Alan Grayson, who is probably the sleaziest, slimiest weasel to infest the halls of the House of Representatives in a long time, is looking to move up in the world. He is running for the United States Senate. Harry Reid has called on him to drop out, citing Grayson’s problems with the Ethics committee. Here are some of the details from Fox News:

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid on Friday called for U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson to drop out of the race for a Senate seat in Florida, but Grayson angrily denounced the move and said he has no plans to follow Reid’s suggestion.

Oh this is going to be fun!

Reid said in a statement that Grayson claims to be progressive but seems to have “no moral compass.” He said Grayson used his office to unethically promote a hedge fund that until recently had been based in the Cayman Islands. “His actions aren’t just disgraceful to the Democratic Party, they disgrace the halls of Congress,” Reid said.

Grayson’s business activities have come under scrutiny for the past several months. The New York Times on Thursday reported that Grayson promoted his international travels, some with congressional delegations, to solicit business for a hedge fund he controlled.

Obviously, Grayson thinks that this is the 19th century and that this is just how Representatives handle matters. I think he might have missed the last 100 or so years of changes to the laws. However, to have Dingy Harry Reid challenge someone’s ethics is both amusing and worrying. How bad does someone have to be to get Dingy Harry to demand you drop out of a race for ethical reasons? As for Grayson? He’s having none of it and not only refuses to drop out, he’s going after Reid.

Grayson in his own statement said Reid is relying on a “false and misleading hyped story to try to pressure me out of this race.”

“I never used my Congressional office to advance any business interest or for personal gain, and to say so is utterly deceitful,” he added. “I resent the attack on my `morality,’ and I question the morality and judgment of any elected official, much less one in my own party, who would sink so low as to engage in such a smear.”

Grayson is utterly corrupt. He is a two timing sleazy scumbag who has a long, sordid history of trying to use his office to get anyone he perceives as a threat to him. He’s also not very bright, and has been conned several times in the past. His activities as a hedge fund manager even drew the attention of the New York Times.

This highly unusual dual role — a sitting House lawmaker running a hedge fund, which until recently had operations in the Cayman Islands — has led to an investigation of Mr. Grayson by the House Committee on Ethics.

I don’t know about you, but when I think of the Cayman Islands, I think drug money and organized crime hiding their money. Just the place for a Democratic member of the House of Representatives to set up his business. It just screams “Unethical Behavior!”

The inquiry has become public, but emails and marketing documents obtained by The New York Times show the extent to which Mr. Grayson’s roles as a hedge fund manager and a member of Congress were intertwined, and how he promoted his international travels, some with congressional delegations, to solicit business.

Interviews and the documents show that Mr. Grayson told potential investors in his hedge fund that they should contribute money to the fund to capitalize on the unrest he observed around the world, and to take particular advantage when there was “blood in the streets.”

double-facepalm

The emails also show how Mr. Grayson’s work for the hedge fund — which had $16.4 million in assets as of October and only four investors since it was established

Four investors? The first thing that comes to mind is, “Just how stupid are these investors?”, followed by “I wonder what they think they’re getting by giving these slimeball that kind of money? Could it be influence buying?”

at times interfered with his other duties. In August 2015, after Mr. Grayson introduced legislation calling for larger annual increases in Social Security benefits, he signed off on a plan to highlight the proposal at an event in Tampa, Fla., emails obtained by The Times show. But the plan was scuttled, two former aides said, when economic turmoil in China sent stock markets tumbling globally and Mr. Grayson had to turn his attention to the fund.

Obviously, his own personal fortune, along with his four investors money is far more important than taking care of elderly constituents.

Mr. Grayson’s activities have long concerned his campaign aides. In private emails in June, Mr. Grayson’s aides pleaded with him to close the hedge fund, convinced that its focus on investing in nations hit by political or economic strife, and its ties to the Cayman Islands, a notorious tax haven, sharply conflicted with his image as a scold of Wall Street — even if he had not done anything wrong.

I see that Grayson studied under Hillary Clinton when it comes to ethics and the law. In his filthy mind, ethics and the law are for other people, not him.

This is going to be the drip, drip, drip story that never goes away,” Doug Dodson, Mr. Grayson’s Senate campaign manager until the end of 2015, wrote in a June email to Mr. Grayson, saying his political opponents would “try to make you look like a hypocrite and a fraud and not the populist you claim to be.”

I hate to tell you, but no one is going to have to work very hard to show people that Grayson is a hypocrite, fraud and all around dirtbag.

Mr. Grayson rejected the advice, the emails show. “I still think that it would be taken, wrongly, as an admission of guilt,” he wrote back.

Grayson’s sleaziness is also contagious it seems.

Sometimes, Mr. Grayson deployed his aides to work for the fund and his political activity at the same time. Todd Jurkowski, a former spokesman in Mr. Grayson’s House office, was the vice president for investor relations when the fund was started while also serving as treasurer for Mr. Grayson’s campaign in 2012.

triple facepalm

The New York Times story goes into a great deal of detail on what Grayson’s been doing. I can see why Dingy Harry wants him out of the Senate race. He will get his head handed to him. The only reason he was able to retake his seat the last time, (Grayson lost reelection, then ran again and won), is that his district was gerrymandered to fill it full of very stupid Democrat voters. (But I repeat myself)

Typical Democrat Voter

Grayson has also threatened Ted Cruz if he should win the Republican nomination for President. He has stated that he will sue to keep Cruz off the ballot claiming he isn’t an American. (Cruz’s status is interesting, but for another day)

I don’t think Grayson has though things through. If he should actually do this, and get Cruz removed, and hand the election to the Democrats, the Republicans will go after him with both barrels and Atomic Annie. They will make sure he goes down and ends up spending significant quality time in a federal Supermax prison. If these ethics issues are real, he might end up there anyway. He certainly won’t be the next senator from Florida under any circumstances.
