Good day all. Things are happening at a furious pace today. A short while ago, I wrote a post on former Speaker of the House and current drunken RINO idiot, John Boehner, saying he would support drafting Paul Ryan as the GOP(e) nominee in the case of a brokered convention.
This, of course, would be an utterly stupid thing for the GOP(e) to do, but then the RNC is not noted for being all that smart. Actually, the Republican Party is more commonly known as “The Party of Stupid” for all the incompetence and stupid things they’ve done over the decades.
Well, Paul Ryan was quick to come out and say he wouldn’t accept the nomination. Here are the details from NBC News:
House Speaker Paul Ryan will not accept the presidential nomination of the Republican Party if GOP leaders seek him as a savior candidate amid a contested convention this summer, an aide said Wednesday. “The speaker is grateful for the support, but he is not interested. He will not accept a nomination and believes our nominee should be someone who ran this year,” spokeswoman AshLee Strong said.
Paul Ryan had his chance when he was running as the VP nominee under Mittens Romney. They went down to crushing defeat, losing an election they should have won because…Romney. If Ryan were to be stupid enough to accept the nomination under a brokered convention, freezing out Donald Trump as Ted Cruz, he would blow the election yet again and we would end up with an outright crook in the White House.
Ryan is also not very popular with the base, especially after his sell out to Obama, where he gave King Putt everything he wanted. When he did that, there were almost immediate calls fro Ryan to be primaried, just the way Eric Cantor was. I haven’t been paying attention to his state, so I have no idea what is going on out there. In any case, Ryan knows that he would have no chance and this is why he was so quick to put the kibosh on Crybaby’s idea. That may be the one smart thing Ryan’s done in years.
