Good day all. Over the last few years, as the whole Global Warming/Climate Change “field of science” began collapsing, it’s adherents have become more and more militant in going after anyone who questioned their orthodoxy.
Now the Democrat Attorneys General, along with Democrat members of Congress have decided that they must punish those who refuse to bow down to the Church of Climate Change. They are going after companies such as ExxonMobile, demanding all their records in order to “prove” that they are behind the static temperatures, the increasing size of the ice caps and the huge amounts of snow that parts of the country have received. Here are the details of this witch hunt from Fox News:
Democratic officials’ campaign against fossil fuel companies is entering a new phase as state attorneys general launch investigations that mirror the Justice Department’s landmark case against “Big Tobacco,” probing claims that oil companies misled the public about the risks of global warming — a charge industry representatives adamantly reject.
The claim that the oil companies misled the public is nothing more than a ploy to loot the oil companies. The tobacco companies did rig studies, however the collapse of the Global Warming scam is happening all by itself. The public record of the so called “Science” is full of scandals of data being altered and the instruments used to collect the data being placed in the wrong locations. Basically, they put thermometers in the middle of parking lots and next to heat pump exhaust ports. There are people, not backed by any organization, who have gotten hold of the raw data from stations that were set up and compared it to what the scientists released and found it to be altered to the point of being unusable.
Massachusetts and the U.S. Virgin Islands are the latest to announce probes, specifically into whether ExxonMobil was up-front regarding what it knew about climate change. “Fossil fuel companies that deceived investors and consumers about the dangers of climate change should be held accountable. That’s why we have joined in investigating ExxonMobil,” Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey said in announcing the inquiry.
That quote from Healey is exactly what you would expect from a religious fanatic. The conversations on the whole global warming/climate change thing have been ongoing for literally decades. The climate has been, and continues to be studied with better equipment, and the results are not to the liking of the members of the Church of Global Warming. Then we have the AG from New York.
The announcements follow a similar investigation by New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman, who subpoenaed Exxon’s financial records and emails last November. Schneiderman has indicated ExxonMobil is not the only energy company in his office’s crosshairs, vowing to prosecute any that committed fraud to maximize profit at the public’s expense “to the fullest extent of the law.”
Scheinderman is as corrupt as the day is long, and is just the latest in a long line of power mad attorneys general from New York. His predecessor, Client #9 Eliot Spitzer decided to destroy former AIG Chief Executive Officer Maurice Greenberg, culminating in Greenberg stepping down. That whole mess is still being litigated, but Greenberg has sued Eliot Spitzer for defamation of character. Of course, the energy companies are not just sitting back waiting to take it in the shorts this time.
Yet industry representatives and their allies say what’s really going on is a coordinated attempt to silence climate change skeptics while punishing the industry itself for society’s use of fossil fuels, all based on spurious claims of a cover-up. Exxon representatives say the accusations against the oil giant are “laughable” and “not credible,” blasting recent news reports that assert the industry tried to mislead the public about global warming dangers.

Do these moronic AG’s really want to open that whole can of worms? If they go after the oil companies, their lawyers are going to demand massive amounts of scientific documentation from all the Climate Change believers such as Michael E. Mann, creator of the “Hockey Stick” graph.
Then there is the Climatic Research Unit email controversy where the University of East Anglia had their servers hacked and a treasure trove of information came out on how the “scientists” would suppress any views other than Man Made Climate Change. The list goes on and on.
However, what is really happening here is nothing less than suppression of a point of view that doesn’t bend to the will of the Church of Global Warming.
Republicans, though, see an effort to silence climate change skeptics.
“This scientific and political debate is healthy, and it should be encouraged. It should not be silenced with threats of criminal prosecution,” Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt and Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange said in a statement. Pruitt and Strange were referring more broadly to the “AGs United for Clean Power” coalition, which came together in New York in a push to build on global warming initiatives pursued by the Obama administration.
And there it is. The drive to close down all energy generation systems that don’t rely on solar power, wind power or unicorn farts. The lessons of Solyndra and other “Green Energy” companies are lost on these people. Don’t think for a moment that those disasters won’t be brought up if these AG’s are stupid enough to try and take this to trial.
What kicked off the investigative dominoes was a series of stories published in the Los Angeles Times by reporters with the Columbia University Energy and Environmental Reporting Fellowship, and also by InsideClimate News. The articles cite internal documents written by Exxon’s scientists that possibly demonstrated that researchers had concluded as early as the 1980s that fossil fuel emissions were linked to global warming, but actively sought to mislead the public.
Hmm, that would be some serious proof, except for a few small details.
Jeffers says the articles conveniently left out some truth about the scientists’ conclusions.
During a 1989 presentation, Exxon scientist Duane G. Levine told the board of directors that concerns about the “enhanced greenhouse effect” resulting from human activity had been the subject of scientific study for some time. But, Levine had said, any linkage was “deeply imbedded in scientific uncertainty.”
BINGO! There’s the little problem I mentioned. The scientist said it’s possible, but that he wasn’t certain. Considering that the whole global warming nonsense was being pushed by Al Gore to enrich himself, it makes sense that the oil companies look into it. Back then, we didn’t know just how badly corrupted the data was, either through accident, (Badly placed instruments), or outright fraud. That didn’t slow down the L.A. Times though.
The stories also claimed the fossil fuel industry financed a distortion campaign by funding various think tanks, including the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), which received a subpoena from U.S. Virgin Islands Attorney General Claude E. Walker, an independent.
How dare they actually hire some think tanks to look into something! Why it’s criminal! Of course, one reason to hire a think tank is to get a fresh set of eyes on a subject. CEI is not rolling over on this either.
“It is an affront to our First Amendment rights of free speech and association for Attorney General Walker to bring such intimidating demands against a nonprofit group,” CEI General Counsel Sam Kazman said in a statement.
Walker wants, among other things, a list of donors to CEI. The only reason for him to go after that list is flat out intimidation. He and the other AG’s will drag these donors into court or threaten to ruin them if they don’t stop supporting CEI.
This is nothing less than abusing their powers to suppress the 1st Amendment rights of the Energy companies as well as anyone who, such as myself, think that this whole Global Warming/Climate Change business is a load of horse manure. But then, this is the standard tactics of the modern Democrat Party. Destroy anyone who disagrees with their othodoxy.
