Good day all. Did you know that someone tried to take a shot at Donald Trump last weekend? No? Well you shouldn’t be surprised. The coverage of the attempt was basically nonexistent.
The attempt, and it really was laughable, was made my an Illegal Alien. Interestingly, this one wasn’t from South of the Border. He was from England. Here are the details, such as they are, from Associated Press:
A British man arrested at a weekend Donald Trump rally in Las Vegas tried to grab a police officer’s gun so he could kill the presidential candidate after planning an assassination for about a year, according to authorities. U.S. Secret Service agents said Michael Steven Sandford approached a Las Vegas police officer at the campaign stop to say he wanted Trump’s autograph, but that he then tried to take the weapon.
Pulling a gun from a police officer’s holster is not that simple. Modern holsters have been designed to prevent criminals from being able to grab a gun and turn it on a police officer. I know how this works, but I’m not going to make it easy for the next moron who tries something like this.
A complaint filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Nevada charges Sandford, 20, with an act of violence on restricted grounds. He was denied bail during a court appearance later in the day. His court-appointed attorney said he was living out of his car and in the country illegally after overstaying a visa.
So, this political terrorist wasn’t even supposed to be in the United States in the first place. I would ask why he wasn’t picked up when his visa expired, but we all know the reason. *cough* Obama *cough*
The arrest happened relatively quietly at a campaign stop seen as peaceful compared to the mayhem at the presumptive Republican nominee’s recent events in San Jose, California, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I suspect it was a quiet arrest due to the officer pummeling this idiot into unconsciousness. I can’t say that is what happened, but if you make a grab for a police officer’s gun, he or she is going to do everything to stop you. That usually entails clubbing you like a baby seal.
Sanford told authorities that he went to the Battlefield Vegas shooting range the day before the rally and fired 20 rounds from a 9mm Glock pistol to learn how to use it. Police detectives who visited the range spoke with an employee who confirmed that he provided Sandford shooting lessons, according to the complaint signed by Secret Service Special Agent Joseph Hall.
I looked up the service pistols issued to the Las Vegas Police Department. They don’t issue Glocks, they issue Smith&Wesson Model 5906. This is NOT a Glock. To begin with, it isn’t a Striker Fire pistol. It also has an external safety, something else the Glock doesn’t have. Putting a magazine downrange from a Glock does not a Marksman make. In this case, it does make an idiot.
With regards to this incident, I did read something about it over the weekend. However, it wasn’t covered very extensively, or in many cases, at all. Consider what the reaction would have been by the Mostly Stupid Media if this had been Hillary Clinton and not Donald Trump? We would be getting wall to wall, 24/7 coverage on every channel. And the Media Elite’s are wondering why no one pays any attention to them?
